MTV Movie Awards Tonight - Anyone else checking out?
Yes, I know they're bad and meaningless, but for whatever reason I find myself watching this awards show every year. Maybe just because tradition and/or I want to see the presenters/performances.
Will anyone else check out or is it a definite skip? I am kind of torn given that the Game of Thrones season two finale is tonight.

I want to see some of the The Dark Knight Rises exclusive footage. It's going to be showing with the awards show.

I must be getting old and cranky. Because MTV annoys the hell out of me.
When I was younger, I would be excited to watch the MTV Movie Awards. Like it was kind of a big deal. Now, I just like to see who the winners are, to see what is relavent with the teen audience.
And get off my lawn!

You mean the Twilight Movie Awards? Until next year anyway. When it'll probably become the Hunger Games Awards.

I'm going to play it smart and wait for "The Dark Knight Rises" stuff to be put on YouTube instead of putting up with the whole award show.

I used to watch the MTV Movie every year, but this show started getting bad around 10 years ago. I remember the days of the lifetime achievement award for Clint Howard, that is when the show was entertaining.

The show is a trainwreck and the awards are a complete joke -- but it's still better than the Oscars.

I'm so disconnected from this show that I didn't even know it was going to be airing at all. Heck, until I saw this thread just now, I actually forgot about it alltogether.

He was actually pretty good.
The nominations were better than they've been in previous years. Ryan Gosling got nominated for Drive which was nice - granted his performances in The Ides of March and Crazy Stupid Love were superior, in my opinion.

The show was terrible. The only good parts were seeing the sexy Kirsten Stewart and the sexy Charlize Theron and of course The Dark Knight Rises footage.

I thought Russell Brand's John Travolta jokes were pretty funny, especially the part about getting the Thetans out. I'm surprised Brand went there since he is appearing in a new movie with Tom Cruise.
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry can barely read a teleprompter. "Edward Scissorhand and Ed Woods..." Were there any clips from From Hell or The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus in the Johnny Depp montage?
Nice to see Kristen Stewart receive an award from her former movie mom, Jodie Foster.

I DVRed it and fast-forwarded through 90% of it. I was bummed they didn't do the movie parody opener. The pretaped bit with Joel McHale and the one with Emma Stone's costars were fun.
