Although we didn't get much further in the case (no shock there), one of the better episodes we've seen this season. We got a couple of nice shows last season focusing on Holder's background...now we get one on Linden, and it was pretty good.

I'm so excited about how this show is going. I know I'm about the only one, but I really do like this show. They've pretty much pieced together the motive for killing Rosie, but not who did it. Only 3 episodes left.

I had no idea that was Linden until the very end when she was released from the asylum and had her turtleneck back on.

As I mentioned last week - they did a poor job at cleaning up the crime scene even though they had 3 weeks to do a spotless job... and now they're going to great lengths in doing so by renovating the room - still no-one is able to spot the stupid passcard that Linden spotted in minutes in the dark?
Can't wait for this season to be over.

Too late. I committed to this season based on early reviews that this season was much better (which it is better - but only marginally). I invested this much time - so I just want closure at this point.

Just give me two more hours of Holder being awesome then solve the mystery. But considering the turns this show is going through, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they threw us all a left hook and actually resolved it in the 12th episode.....only to set up a new killing for the (hopefully not) potential third season.

I think the show painted itself into a corner with a potential 3rd season. You've already established that you're a show that not only solves one murder at a time, but takes two seasons to do so.
So why would an average viewer tune into season 3, knowing that based on the show's history, the murder wouldn't be solved until season 5?

And who probably did it?
I stopped watching earlier in the season, but want to know what happened.

So, we'll see if any of this is correct or another red herring for something else, but it makes sense the way Holder laid it out.

This show is Killing me. The only character I actually like anymore is Holder. The problem for me is the writing. The plot feels forced so they can fit a schedule, often times in a 'deus ex machina' manner. Big example in this episode was Linden being dragged off to a psychiatric ward, which I found to be so stupid I was yelling at the TV. They skipped right over how that happened with Holder being right outside the building at the time she was knocked out. And then he didn't show up at the psychiatric ward until the next morning?? And if she was knocked out, wouldn't there be a head injury that would prove what actually happened instead of some stranger claiming that Linden was suicidal? And when asked about what happened, Linden was made to sound like a complete lunatic when it was quite easy to explain and prove. The therapist was so oblivious to the very strange circumstances under which Linden arrived that she didn't question it at all. To the point that it seemed like she was working for Chief Jackson or Mayor Adams. The writers are LAZY. And since the whole plot of this episode revolved around believing in this premise of Linden being carted off to the psych ward, I ended up just getting frustrated. Frustrated because the potential was there, but the writers make the characters more and more idiotic and ridiculous beyond belief.

Holder found out a guy that works for the Polish mob was caught sneaking into the waterfront construction site to plant bones to make it look like it was an Indian burial ground. Ames didn't press charges for some reason. Holder's theory is that Ames and the Mayor then went to the casino to discuss the mob guy getting caught because apparently there's a bigger payday coming down the road with the Native Americans. Rosie happened to be up on the 10th floor of the casino and overheard the whole plot, so they killed her.
So, we'll see if any of this is correct or another red herring for something else, but it makes sense the way Holder laid it out.

Sure. I understand your frustrations with the writing. The first season I thought people were being unfairly harsh on the writing, but this year it has taken big leaps of faith to stay in the story. After I finish watching this season, I'm going to go watch the original version to see how the writing was on that series.

I agree with a lot that has been said however I thought the episode was one of the best of the series. FINALLY, we get some insight into Linden's character and see her without the damned turtleneck.
