Questions for 3DTV Owners

We are a group of students from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. We are conducting some research about the 3D industry for a class project. We are particularly interested in 3DTV owners. We have created a survey and would love if you would take a couple minutes to fill it out.

Were any pandas harmed in the making of that survey?

Took me 3 seconds to complete. That's my kind of survey!

I'm in Canada so I don't know if I count (never seem to with this stuff) but I'll fill it out anyway since I do own a 3D TV.

Started it, but won't finish it. i have a 3dTV, but do not have the glasses.

Options don't allow for that.

Re: Questions for 3DTV Owners

There's a typo on the last page (you ask the question "what is your gender?" twice, though it's obvious the second time you really are asking for age)

Not sure I get what you're going for with some of the questions. "What did you buy a 3D tv?" So I can watch stuff in 3D ... why else would you buy a 3D tv? Though my 3D watching is mostly movies (and I included that in the answer, if that's what you were going for)

None that we know of.

We're legit, yes. This is a marketing project for one of our final marketing classes.

So do you just not use the 3D part of the TV? I'm not sure I understand.

Thanks for the typo - we'll see if we can fix that. And yes, that was where we were going with the "why did you buy a 3DTV".

Thanks everyone!

I have the glasses, but they generally just sit around collecting dust.

Interesting. We hadn't thought that people might buy 3DTV's without ever using the 3DTV feature. We'll look into this further.

I can tell you from experience that there is a HUGE misconception about 3DTVs.

Everyone I've ever told about my 3D television thinks that you MUST wear 3D glasses every time you want to watch it, not realizing that it is a fantastic 2D television as well.

That is probably a huge turn off for consumers if that's what people in general believe.

They don't realize that you can indeed never use the 3D aspect of a 3D television and just use it like any other 2D-only television, that it's not a necessity.

Re: Questions for 3DTV Owners

I took the survey, but you probably would've had better luck posting this in the Blu-Ray section. I hardly ever watch broadcast TV, and doubt there'll be anything in 3D on it anytime soon. I just got my 3D TV a couple weeks ago and love it, I've bought more than 20 3D Blu-Rays already. I've loved 3D for a long time and was glad to see it come back, but have refused to support the "upcharges" for it at theaters.
