Hopefully this one is a step up.

I've been ok with most of the season...until Nellie started to take on a prominent role. The actress is just annoying as hell, and the way they're forcing her down our throats really shows a lack of understanding of their audience, IMO.
If she was going to be a series regular I'd quit.

They'll probably delegate her to Robert California's role next season.

The bit with Andy taking all the dogs seemed like something they would have written for Michael Scott.
I did like Kevin getting to be the "smart" one.
I heard an interview with Pam today and she was praising Catherine Tate. I doubt the cast knows how much the character is disliked.

Yeah, this was pretty awful. The Smoky Robinson opening was beyond horrible.
The only two things I laughed at were Kevin's dog at the end, and Jim nodding to the camera after Nellie said her friends said that if she moved to America, she'd be murdered.

I thought this one was a bit better then the last few weeks, although I guess thats not saying much. Nellie still sucks.

I loved the Smokey Robinson gag solely because he's not dead.
The rest of the episode was just sad and painful. I finally see why people hate Tate; I like her in the Welcome Party episode because her humor was very uncomfortable and awkward. The big problem is the writers don't know if they want that or broad and grating.

I don't think the problem is with Tate, it's with the writing. With good writing, I don't think the character would be so grating or the actress so unlikeable.
I've been with this show since episode 1 and own every season up to 7 on DVD. My wife and I agree it's time to pull the plug. It's running on less than fumes. It's depressing.

I watched last night just because the group would be out of the "office" and honestly nothing can be as bad as last weeks episode.
1) Nelly was not in the spotlight this episode she had 2 scenes. Honestly the Taco bit was stupid, but you can see the writers want to jam her down the audience's throats because she has now won over Pam, Jim, and now Darrel (because she ate a taco).
2) The dog bit was more a Michael thing.. but I did smile looking at all those silly dogs (who wouldn't?)
3) I don't know what they will do once back in the office.. I have a feeling the writers will realy ramp up nelly's role..
I want to be done with this show sooooo bad. What do we have 3 more episodes left?

Things I liked:
Dwight not understanding how a silent auction worked, particularly Jim calling out, "Speech! Speech!" as Dwight began to realize what had just happened.
Jim's look when Nellie said she her friends told her she would get murdered if she moved to the states.
Kevin calling out Andy/Jim/Pam's BS and pointing out that things are not going well for Andy.
Things I disliked:
Pretty much everything else. I can't recall an episode I enjoyed less as a whole.
So which is it with Nellie: Is she suffering from deep seated emotional insecurities, or severe mental retardation? She routinely displays characteristics of both.

I miss when this show was good. Kevin was the only thing I really enjoyed about it, although Dwight winning all the silent auctions got a few smiles out of me.

I want them to spinoff a show called and starring "Creed" where he quits Dunder Mifflen to become a bounty hunter. He is the only character left with any sort of appeal to me whatsoever.

I've experienced something like this myself. I introduced a British visitor to Mexican food several years ago. About all he knew was that a tortilla was something like a pancake.
This was a shock to me being from the Southwestern US where Mexican food is a staple.

Me as well. Even the scene making Nellie a fool with the $20 tacos wasn't worth it. Loved the scene at the end where the setup makes you think the dog is dead then you see him with the dog. Very charming like the series from a few years ago
