Synopsis:

Spoiler:
When Annie (Alison Brie) discovers the study group's yam experiment smashed to smithereens on the science lab floor, the group mobilizes to expose the criminal and save their grade. Once Abed (Danny Pudi) and Troy (Donald Glover) think they have located the perpetrator, the group conducts a "trial," with a reluctant Professor Kane (guest star Michael K. Williams) serving as judge. Jeff (Joel McHale) soon realizes, however, that the plot is thicker than anyone suspects. Chevy Chase, Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jim Rash also star.

Community goes to the gimmick well quite often, but they almost always pull it off. This episode was hilarious.

Also hilarious: the title of this episode.

And I loved the Wire reference ("A man's gotta have a code").

I was loving every minute of this but what absolutely put it over the top was when Medical Examiner Rogers showed up.

"Sorry about my partner. He's been on edge ever since we switched."

Another perfect pop culture riff. Totally awesome.

Busted up at Troy reading Todd his rights, among other things.

Great sendup.

at Annie's victory dance.

Shirley dispatching Troy and Abed to investigate was perfect.

That was a perfect episode. Cheap laugh, but Abed not knowing how to tell time was great.

Love how everyone they were questioning continued to do something while they were talking.

From the PERFECT janitor conversation at the beginning this was damn outstanding.

To think that shows actually exist with this type of dialogue in a non-ironic tone. Mind blowing. Amazing episode.

Great episode. They hit all the marks for a good L&O parody.

I've never seen an episode of Law and Order and thought this was absolutely hilarious. I'm sure fans of L&O loved it even more.

Forgot about Starburns dying. We did know a death was coming, but the way they worked his death in this episode fit perfectly with how many L&Os ended. Just perfect.

Yeah, good stuff. I busted up at Jeff and Annie's initial conversation.

(loosely paraphrased)

Jeff: I, too, was lured here under false pretenses.

Annie: Jeff! You WILL be screwed in the biology room! We might all fail this assignment.

OMG. Talk about almost perfect. I was watching this with my girlfriend who's a HUGE L&O fan but not a fan of Community and she loved it. The tone was pitch perfect. They didn't go nuts with cameos either, but seeing Medical Examiner Rodgers made me bust a gut.

I fucking love this show.

Michael Ironside is popping up all over the place these days. Not very stealthy.

Just re-watched this at lunch. I forgot to mention my favorite L&O moment:

Annie: "Is that why you beat your wife? Withdrawn! Is that why you drink and pop pills? Withdrawn! Are you a virgin? Withdrawn!"

I saved this one on the DVR so I can watch it again tonight. So many good moments crammed into a half hour show.
