I was just looking for Slap Shot a few weeks ago, I'll catch it later in the week (it starts on 1/1). For some reason they had a sequel or two to Slap Shot but not the original.

Netflix signs deal with Time Warner.

Expect current shows like Revolution, 666 Park Ave, and The Following on netflix.

Not sure what else - they used to have Batman Forever and the Batman cartoon movie. I hope they got those back.

I wish they'd put up the DCAU.

AND DAMN YOU NETFLIX! First you took down Stargate SG-1, and now you've removed FarScape with no warning the day I was planning on starting watching it! You know there're so few things in life that make me happy as it is .

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Netflix just got a deal with Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

Netflix scores Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and more Time Warner content

Just last week, Netflix announced it had inked a new deal with Time Warner to stream seasons of several series produced by Warner Bros.: "The West Wing," "Fringe," "Chuck," and more.

Monday brought the announcement of another contract. Netflix will add to its catalog complete previous seasons of shows from Turner Broadcasting and Warner Bros., both of which are owned by CNNMoney parent company Time Warner.

Starting on March 30, U.S. Netflix customers will be able to stream Cartoon Network shows including "Adventure Time" and "Johnny Bravo." Adult Swim titles include "Robot Chicken" and "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." One Warner Bros. Animation show, "Green Lantern," will also become available.

The deal includes a streaming license for TNT's drama "Dallas," but that show won't be available until January 2014. The "Dallas" deal will be exclusive to Netflix. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I wonder why WB licensed the new Dallas, but not the old one. Plus it won't be available for another year.

Wouldn't it make sense to license both versions of the show?

I haven't seen the old Dallas in years and wouldn't mind a re-watch. It's just too expensive to buy all 14 seasons on DVD plus the reunion movies.

Nice! I'll finally be able to delete the 85 or so Adventure Time episodes that are currently on my DVR.

I wish they'd offer their anime with a choice of subtitles and audio tracks.

Agreed, there's a few anime I've tried but was so put off by the dub I just couldn't get past the first ep.

(Not a complete dub hater, we only watch Tenchi in English because we first saw it on [adult swim] years ago.)

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

If you like anime, you have to get Crunchyroll and FUNimation. The other streaming services are pretty weak in that category.

I was a hardcore subbie once upon a time, I've loosened up considerably. A lot of dubs these days are quite good, I'd just prefer to have the option, especially given how lax they've been with their DVD about which they obviously don't much care anymore.

Adventure Time will be huge for them. Childrens Hospital and The Boondocks are apparently part of this as well.

Compliance showed up recently and it is one disturbing movie since from what I can tell, nearly all of it actually happened as described in the movie.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Compliance was disturbing because of how disgustingly stupid everybody was in it. The fact it actually happened makes me a little embarrassed. Well made movie though.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Not sure where to put this. But it seems important for anyone that likes using 3rd party services like Instant Watcher. Sounds like existing services will continue to work (for now).

Netflix changes its API program by ending it, will no longer issue new dev keys

Once upon a time, Netflix was proud enough of its API which enabled third-party services and apps to serve up its data and content in different ways that it opened a gallery to display them -- but times have changed since 2009. The old App Gallery is gone and now, so is API access for new developers. A blog post indicates the API is now mostly focused on supporting Netflix's official clients on the many devices its customers use to stream movies, not hobbyist projects for managing ones queue or finding new movies to watch. While those should still work since "existing keys will remain active" the developer forums are being set to read-only, no new keys are being issued and new partners are no longer being accepted, effective immediately.

The move is reminiscent of recent changes by Twitter, where as each company has grown it's decided having control over the user experience through its own official apps outweighs allowing the community to build and extend access as it sees fit. We're sad to see the program go, as many of these tools assisted Netflix members in ways the official website and apps either never did, or no longer do after the features were removed. Even though Netflix relies on its own secret sauce for recommendations, we've always found it hard to beat InstantWatcher's curated lists (by year, Rotten Tomatoes rating, critic's picks, titles most recently added by other users and more) to find a video, and FeedFliks was indispensable for monitoring exactly how valuable the service is until its features were cut down by API changes. They provided an edge the competition like Amazon Prime and Redbox couldn't match, but we'll have to wait and see if this change is noticed by enough subscribers to matter -- we've seen how that can go.

That's such BS, it wouldn't kill them to stream these things in the proper ratios, it'd be the least they could do. Is it one of those movies where the IMAX scenes swap ratios?

Ever since their streaming got big, they dropped the "Suggest A Movie" thing and their contact stuff beyond technical issues. I'm still frustrated about some stuff going down. But hey, shame on me, I keep paying, so maybe I should shut up.
