Re: Street Fighter 2 animated DVD questions

Japan/US/UK releases are non-anamorphic DVDs.

The new Australian disc is apparently anamorphic in 1.77:1 As it says on the Madman site, but as for if it's "Cropped on the sides from 1.85:1" or if it's "Opened up from the top and bottom from 1.85:1", I don't know. Unless you have both discs and compare them together.

But either way, you'll be either missing a sliver of information on the sides,
or you'll be getting a sliver of information on the top and bottom.

I'd say go with the anamorphic Australian version if you have a wide TV (which I assume most people do by now)

I did end up going for the US version mainly because it was under $10. I got it used from half.com but it's in very nice shape with the slip cover, insert, and the comic book.

Good point on the AU version possibly being opened from top/bottom rather than cropped from the sides.

If it's cropped from the sides then the US version is better despite not being anamorphic, if it's opened from top/bottom then the AU version is better.

I wonder which one it is.

Sucks (and shocking) there really isn't a page on the net to compare/contrast.

This is what IMDB says: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114563/technical

Re: Street Fighter 2 animated DVD questions

Apparently this is going to be included on the Street Fighter Anniversary Collectors box, and on bluray:

http://www.amazon.com/Street-Fighter...Y1NEX2CKCZJWD2

Of course, the list price for it is $149.99, but it does come with a lot of stuff.
