Thank gawd the show has rebounded from the Katy/Kathy Perry cameo from a few weeks ago (was not a fan of her attempt at being a demented prison guard). This ep was just awesomely twisted and ridiculously sweet on all story fronts with Burt and Virginia proving again to be the coolest grandparents on tv.
Burt: "I also knew you were way out of my league."
Virginia: "I was not. I was in a back brace."
Burt: "That was a bonus -- It was like you were hot and bionic!"

I agree about the Katy Perry episode. We fell behind with this show for a few weeks and just watched the last three weeks worth of episodes last night. First was the Katy Perry one and I don't think I laughed or even chuckled once. It didn't feel like an episode of Raising Hope...different writer perhaps? Just felt off.
Then the next two weeks were back to gold.
Loved the little conversation about how they changed so dramatically from the photo of Jimmy's birth to the photo when he is about 4 years old and then Burt saying "and yet we've changed so little since then and that was 20 years ago" or something to that effect.
This episode and last weeks were a riot!
