Commentary tracks with people that have no relation to the film?
The only one i can think of on the top of my head was Donnie Darko directors cut had Kevin Smith on it. I don't think he had any relation to the film. It was cool hearing his thoughts on the film though.
Any others out there?

Define "relation." I have listened to several tracks that were done by a historian, scholar, or film critic who has studied the film or the film's subject matter. Would you consider these people as "related" to the film?
If not: Rebel Without a Cause; The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly; (I swear there is on on the Great Escape, but I don't see it listed on the case) ... I know I have listened to many others -- seems like the old war films have quite a few.

Patti Smith on the Aqua Teen movie (She actually has a lot to say about a movie she's barely seen!)
The Interns on Bowling for Columbine
Local writers/reviewers on Unhinged
Johnny Legend and Eric Caidin on SWV's Mondo movies (They don't even watch the movies before the recordings. So they see if their memories of the 60's hold up---They usually do)

One of my favorite commentaries is Steven Soderbergh and Tony Gilroy on The Third Man.

Quite a few of the film in the Warner Bros. Film Noir collections have commentaries by film historians and critics. Also, Roger Ebert did a wonderful commentary for Casablanca.

On the Ultimate matrix sets there are Critic and Philosophy teacher commentary tracks which I quite enjoyed.

His commentary is good and informative up to a point. When it gets to a certain part of the film he hates, he starts rattling off crime statistics and telling you to fast forward. And if your still watching then he says there must be something wrong with you. It's very odd and I'm surprised they didn't edit out his entire rant

Well, one of the philosophers was in the second 2 Matrix movies (or maybe it was just the last one) Cornell West played one of the senators that was in charge of sending ships out or not.

Re: Commentary tracks with people that have no relation to the film?
If we rule out historians or critics commentaries,
The Graduate: Steven Soderbergh
Hot Fuzz: one commentary with real Police Officers, another commentary featuring Quentin Tarantino
The King Of Kong: Chris Carle of IGN and Jon M. Gibson of I-Am-8-Bit
The Work Of Director Spike Jonze: Beastie Boys comment on many of the videos, not just their own
Once Upon A Time In The West: featuring fan John Carpenter
Panic Room: 'surprise guest'
Step Brothers: NBA player Baron Davis
The Thing From Another World: director of the remake, John Carpenter
Transformers: The Movie: Fans commentary
The Simpsons discs have many tracks featuring people that didn't work on the specific episode, usually because they just happened to be there recording a different commentary earlier or later that day, and just stuck around. (Like Weird Al Yankovic on one other track on season 14)
