Great episode as the show is really hitting its stride now. Really seemed like all the characters are developed now, and there were some good one liners too.

I wish I had that sweet Mercedes Ace owns.
I am a Nolte fan but Walter Smith is probably the least interesting character on the show.

As for the very few comments every week. This show is a really difficult watch and I'm guessing the topic of horse racing and gambling doesn't really resonate with the casual HBO viewers here. Hell, there is some comments from people here who say that have no idea what they just watched.
I have to read a recap after I watch an episode to make sure I understood alot of the key plot points.

I think this is the beauty of the show. You're watching this show and can't process anything during and after it, but for some reason we all love it!
In all seriousness, as I said a few days ago, this felt like the first episode where everything came together on the show and it really feels like its hitting its stride. It's a shame because I know friends who dont have the patience to stick with a show, as everything has got to be in their face and well defined in the first episode, and its just so hard to do that. The only show lately that really hit its stride in the pilot episode was Homeland, IMO.
The characters by the 6th episode are finally developed where they can starting to play off each other well, and I think you have to watch the show in a macro context. This isn't the Sopranos where you are focused on Tony and THEN all the other characters, you are focused on Horse Racing and how a racetrack operates through the lives of these characters.
