Help me find this TV show!!

A while ago I watched an episode of a tv show where the government was watching another dimension. They found a portal which they could see a family at their house in a field. They were sending ice cubes through the portal. One of the people watching fell in love with the woman in the other dimension and decided to go through the portal to meet her and it did not end well. Does anybody have an idea as to what the show was? I have been looking for it for years and have come up with nothing. I kinda think it was an Amazing Stories, Twilight Zone like show.

I know the exact episode you are talking about. And you are correct, it did not end well for the guy who fell in love. I will do a little research and see what I can find.

I think this is from a series call Night Visions. I think the episode is called View Through The Window. I loved that episode.

That's it. I saw this somewhat recently on the Chiller channel. So if you get that channel, keep an eye out for it (the series doesn't have a DVD release). I actually strongly remembered the short story ("Windows" by Bob Leman) it was based on from way back ... when it appeared in "Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction" (the written story was a lot more graphic and disturbing than what television could get away with).
