Abbie Elliot leaving Saturday Night Live SNL?
I don't think we saw her full potential since she did a few number of sketches
The actress has been tapped to star in Ben Fox Is My Manny, the Fox comedy pilot from Couples Retreat scribe Dana Fox, a studio rep has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the project Elliott would play a single mother who gets an assist from her brother who moves in with her in a bid to help her raise her baby. The title character is described as a heightened version of Fox's brother, Ben Fox.
The writer, whose credits include What Happens in Vegas and Adult Swim's Children's Hospital, is repped by WME and Anonymous Content.
Should Ben Fox receive a series order, Elliott would depart Lorne Michaels' NBC late-night sketch series in favor of the primetime slot at Fox.
Elliott, who joined SNL in 2008, is best known on SNL for her impersonations of Angelina Jolie, Glee's Lea Michele and New Girl's Zooey Deschanel.

You know it's kind of sad but you can almost always tell by show titles as to whether or not it will last.
This show has two strikes against it. The title, and being a live-action comedy on Fox. She'd be foolish to leave the show.

Well Dratch got a raw deal, because she DID leave for a sure thing on 30 Rock. It was after they realized that they wanted someone prettier that she got bumped. Remember how they worked her into the first few episodes as a consolation? BTW, where is she?

I think Dratch had a part in every episode of the first season of 30 Rock. Maybe because she was already contracted to be in them. But after that, she was pretty much wiped from existance.
This show will fail, but I can see why Elliot would leave. even a single year will pay better than SNL and she'll be out of the black hole that a lot of SNL's cast cant seem to escape. (Im looking at you Samberg and Sudekis).

Remember when Michael J. Fox did Family Ties and Back to the Future at the same time, he only got a couple hours sleep per day and that was only for a short movie schedule not a whole television season.
It's possible Lorne is giving her time off to see if the show takes off. She might be back if the show tanks. Not sure what his policy is on doing other projects.

She's only been on SNL for a few years and already has a sitcom offer. Does that officially make her the cutest female SNL cast member ever? Not saying much, because there have been some real dogs.

I haven't watched the wasteland of comedy that is SNL for years but like Chris Elliott I'd bet she's riding the coat tails of her granddaddy Bob Eliott to make a name in comedy.

Sudekis is your Darrell Hammond or Chris Parnell. Funny, some good characters, but won't thrive as a star by any means.
