View Full Version : Video editing software

I am looking to get some video editing software for the noob (me ;-), for Windows 7 platform. I do have some HD content, so it needs to be able to handle that.

Ideally, I would want software that is easy to use, but does have some more advanced features as well (2 video sources displayed simultaneously, multi track editing, ...). So, I'm looking for the ideal package that both the beginner and advanced user can play with.

Any suggestions? I would take free if a good package is available of course, but I wouldn't mind spending a couple hundred dollars either. Yes, I know windows movie maker is available, but that is too limited.

Sony Vegas can be had for around $30 for an OEM version.

I agree, Sony Vegas. It might be worth popping the $60 for the platinum suite on Amazon because t comes with DVD tutorials. In the meantime you can download it from the Vegas website for a 30 day free trial.
