Anyone using Bass Shakers (aka Butt Shakers)?
I'm thinking about installing these in a two-piece sectional. I'm thinking I'll need one for each piece, but I'm not sure.
I was looking at this inexpensive setup: http://www.amazon.com/Aura-AST-2B-4-...8733623&sr=8-1
Anyone have experience with these? If I get two do you think I'd need two amps?

They are just like speaker drivers. So you need 2 amp channels or one amp capable of handling two 4ohm drivers. Frankly, you need a pretty decent stereo amp to really drive these. Something like this would probably be capable.
I considered these, then bought an SVS sub instead. I'm good.

thanks for the help. I killed a 1500 watt amp driving 4 4ohm shakers (I had one shaker for each theater seat).

I used to have these installed on a couch in my previous home. I drove them with a 45W/channel stereo amp (Parasound zAmp). Pretty cool product to supplement your subwoofer. In my current home I did not have have a striaght forward way to get the cables to my couches without damaging the hard wood floors so I just abandoned the shaker concept.
If you can buy them and an amp for a couple hundred bucks it is probably worth it, but I would not break the bank on a setup.

I've heard from others that you can use Zone 2 on your receiver to drive the shakers. I haven't looked into yet, but might go that route - one less box in my rack.

Only if your receiver has extra amps for zone 2, and a way to map those amps to either the LFE or front.
