Guess they didn't have the rights to call her "Karen Sisco".

This show is written, shot, and directed in such an amazing way that it seamlessly (for me) integrates the case-of-the-week stuff with the ongoing story without boring me. Easily my favorite show currently airing. I still remember when Sons of Anarchy debuted and then Justified came on the following year and a friend telling me how superior of a show SOA was. He doesn't claim that anymore.

The dialogue tonight was just crackling and brimming with lines that worked on multiple levels. This show is seriously becoming a contender for my favorite show ever.

I loved how they introduced Mykelti Williams' character. It definitely had the same sort of vibe I got last season during the scene where Mags poisoned the girl's father, where you could tell she was someone not to be fucked with.

Re: Justified -- "Cut Ties" -- 1/24/12

Pretty good episode.

Loved the introduction of as well of Mykelti Williamson's character. That whole scene had such a dark vibe. They have 2 pretty solid villians this season with McDonough and now him.

I was a little upset that Boyd didn't shank Dickie in prison. It's good to see him back out again.

The main case with the Marshall getting murdered by the Witsec guy was pretty good. The scene in the house was pretty intense.

Mullen showing himself to be a bit of a badass this week.

Every time I see Mykelti Williamson, I keep hearing, "....pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup........."

I think it would probably have been a better idea to take the lye and be square because that is one sinister son of a bitch! Raylan and Boyd were great together again this week.

I guess Kurt Sutter has been railing away on Twitter (and to whoever will listen) about how shows shouldn't let their stars be producers (obviously alluding to Justified) since it "dilutes their vision". Fuck him. He's just jealous that Justified's gotten better and better while SoA has gotten worse and worse.

Solid episode.... I like the groundwork with the new bad guy, and it was good to see Boyd quickly out of prison so they can ramp that storyline up. Would like to see Tim get some more screen time; I like how his character plays off Raylan and also like the bad ass sniper action.

The case of the week was also quite good.

Yup I think Sutter was a victim of his own success on SOA early on and basically said I want to do twists and blow shit up at the expense of character development.

Justified is what SOA could have been if they hadn't abandoned character development and decided to basically abandon any sort of consistency within the characters. Well the dialogue would still be night and day different where Sutter and his teams's idea of portraying anger is Jax yelling "Jesus Christ"

Good main case this week and agree that they're laying the groundwork quite effectively for this season's villains.

can't stand Mykelti Williamson as an actor, so disappointing to see him at the end.

WOW. Totally went over my head what they were doing with Carla Gugino/Karen Sisco. I guess I'm always in a trance by how ridiculously sexy she is.

I liked how they brought it up a few times, especially in the hallway when he couldn't remember her new last name.

God this show is good. The only thing that was distracting me about the episode is Mykeleti's horrible fake teeth.

I was completely confused by that scene. Are we supposed to know who he is already?

I hope Gugina becomes a regular character and they kill off Winona.

That actress playing Winona is the weakest link in this show by far. She is out of her league with the kind of talent, really kind of surprising talent for a TV show, that 'Justified' has. Her wooden acting just sticks out at me like a sore thumb.

When Bubba talked about burning that guy's hand, then nuetralizing the burner with vinegar, Fight Club was the first thing that came to mind. I loved Art's torture scene, great moment for him.

Really? While I don't think she's a particularly talented actress, I think she's more than fine and certainly holds her own with the rest of the cast. But then maybe I'm blinded since I think she's the most beautiful woman on TV...

The actress is fine IMO, but her character is a moron. I bet when she has that kid then Raylan will change!

Re: Justified -- "Cut Ties" -- 1/24/12

I think Natalie Zea is smoking hot, but an average actress at best.

The Winona character serves her purpose as a love interest, support system and nag for Raylan. I don't expect anything more than that and I certainly don't want her killed off either since she's having his kid.

But just imagine unhinged batshit crazy Raylan!
