THIS. EPISODE. WAS. AMAZING.

P.S. I hope they don't "go there" with the temp and Jim, but it seems like they're teasing at that.

Best Episode all season! There have been some good ones, but it has been so hit and miss.

I hadn't given up on The Office but they've had a hard time finding their footing this season. Hopefully they've hit their stride.

Spader is really starting to gel with this cast.

I thought this was a really funny episode, especially with all of the creepy sexual stuff from Robert California.

I thought the lines about the first three movies he bought being Caligula, Last Tango In Paris and Emmanuelle 2 and the thing about eating the lamb while barechested were hilarious.

Finally Hollywood is representing how real people live. Totally makes up for that church episode where Pam and Jim got their kid baptized.

Quality films for all to enjoy however they forgot to include Pink Flamingos.

Yeah, people never go to church or get their kids baptized.

They must not get tongue in cheek jokes in Texas.

Well at least Robert California would enjoy some tongue in cheek action.

I don't buy that Dwight would rather hang around the pool than take a guided tour of the house from Robert California.

Loved this episode. Great to see everyone cut loose, especially Toby. The hedonism theme was a lot of fun.

I wish they'd tone Erin down some though. She alternates between goofy but likable and complete psycho.

I guess it was just me, but I didn't care for the episode and thought there were much funnier ones earlier in the season. Enjoyed the opening with Jim trying to make Stanley laugh, but the Andy/Erin stuff was uninteresting and I didn't really think anything at Robert's house was that funny, other then Ryan and Gabe trying to impress Robert.

They waited until Jenna Fischer was on maternity leave to do a pool party episode?

I enjoyed this episode, and like that they're toying around with Erin and Andy still. Personally, I like how she alters between stupid and psycho.

P.S. I hope they don't "go there" with the temp and Jim, but it seems like they're teasing at that.
I don't think they will. I could see them having the temp try to interest Jim, but I don't see him even faltering for a moment. They've been very good over the years about making the Jim/Pam relationship extremely solid and always doing the opposite of what every regular sitcom would do.

Oh no..I def. dont think they'd have Jim step out of line. But she obviously is interested him... I dont really have an interest in a storyline of her attempting to hook up with him..if they go there I mean.

Btw... "Can Darryl swim?" "THATS RACIST!!!"

Getting drunk on red wine at a pool party? How terribly unmanly.

So Pam had her baby already? Did I miss the episode where they mentioned that. I knew she's been on leave but didn't know she had given birth. Is Angela still pregnant?

Re: The Office -- "Pool Party" -- 1/19/12

Is it just me or does it seem like Jim is a dick for trying to get out of parties early? If it was to be with Pam and the kids that's one thing, but it seemed like he just doesn't like having fun.

On another note, I thought the part where Stanley and Dwight teamed up for the meatballs was one of the best openings of the series.

I didn't see it as being a dick. Why stick around where you're not enjoying yourself?

Agreed, though, on the meatball opening. Very funny stuff.

That's fair. But on another note, did he drive home immediately after downing a bottle of red wine? I know he hit the mailbox due to wanting to get the hell out, but it seemed it could have worked in another sense....
