Fox Movie Channel is now FX Movie Channel for DirecTV

.....now complete with censored content and commercials

It wasn't broken in the first place. Why break it?

Thoughts......

This hurts DirecTV. They are down to only one movie channel in their standard tier of programming (TCM)

I noticed this the other day and will not bother to watch it anymore.

Stuff like this makes me re-evaluate why I pay + $70/mo for a base package with a bunch of fucking commercials. Then again, this station was only in SD so it may as well not exist anyway.

I agree with this. The only movie channel not in HD that I look at is TCM. Just give me that in HD and I'll be happy.

This isn't just like this on Directv.

It's on FIOS and whatever carrier has the channel.

Chalk this up for Comcast, too. And they have it in a higher tier package. They must have rebranded the channel after the first of the year.

This is like when AMC bought IFC a few years ago. IFC was one of my favorite channels until they changed their focus and decided to chop up movies.

Actually, it still is the Fox Movie Channel but now it includes FX Movie Channel so it is a reverse of what Cartoon Network does with Adult Swim. During the period after 1:00p and running up to 12:00a, it is the FX Movie Channel with edited films and commercials. During the period from about 12a and going up to 1p, it is Fox Movie Channel with films in their OAR and uncut without interruption.

I'm watching Joy Ride 2 right now and there is no censorship or commercials, it's also in OAR.

That is totally asinine. Why would Fox consider something like that? They're probably trying to gauge ratings to see if they can just make a total switch then.
