Contribute to an upcoming Manos: The Hands of Fate restoration and Blu-ray release
You can contribute to a restoration and upcoming (8/12) Blu-ray release of Manos: Hands of Fate here, taken from the original workprint. They've already reached the $10,000 needed, but further contributions may lead to extras, including a surviving cast commentary track and restoration documentary. $50 gets you a copy of the Blu-ray and your name in the credits. Here are a few screenshots.

Interesting. Except, it's Manos: Hands of Fate. I'd almost feel guilty contributing to it's restoration.

As much as I am for cult films getting nice releases I just have no desire to spend any money on this movie or time to watch it again.

I'm interested in seeing this movie but this is the wrong time of the year to ask for money. The movie should be called Manos: No Tengo Dinero.

I'm not going to lie, it's a shitty film. BUT...*sigh* significant in it's own way. I'd be really interested in this for the special features.

Looking at his latest progress, and the incredible condition of the workprint, I'm actually tempted to throw some money his way.
(And I'm trying really hard not to make a comparison to George Lucas not being able to restore the theatrical editions of the OT when this guy is doing something like this on his own).

40 days ago I couldn't discount the possibility that it would take all of January to earn $10,000 towards this project. But here we are today, and a final count of 818 backers have brought the total to $48,130 and made sure that the restoration of Manos: The Hands of Fate can be done with all of the care and craft befitting a major release. I'm grateful for the enthusiasm, the excitement and the love shown by everyone who has followed this project. Not only have you given us the budget required for a proper release of this film (plus extra features) on Blu-ray, you've made it possible for many others to discover and enjoy this film far into the future.
It's been an exciting couple of months as a team has been assembled, a cross-platform editing and restoration workflow has been established, and (of course) more film has been scanned. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our backers and our followers, Manos is already looking better than ever.
