Document of The Dead significantly different than the special features on the Ultimate edition of DOTD?

Also, too bad Wandering Ginza Butterfly isn't one of the $6.50 titles.

Thank you for posting this. I've been holding off on 42nd Street Forever in the hopes of eventually finding them for around $5, I'm really looking forward to watching them.

Thanks for posting!

I'm in for GRAPES OF DEATH, BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE and BEAST FROM HAUNTED CAVE.

Anything else look good in the $6.49 or $8.11 range?

Re: ~$6.50 Synapse Films DVDs @ Deepdiscount.com

I ordered most of the $6.49 titles for around $7.40 during a B1G1 sale last spring. Those were the best price I'd ever seen for Synapse. Guess it pays to wait.

Still, between the DVD and BD titles on sale, there's about $40 worth of stuff I'm considering. Hopefully the prices stay this low until Monday when my billing cycle is over for the month.

Re: ~$6.50 Synapse Films DVDs @ Deepdiscount.com

Apparently this sale covers some other DVDs distributed by CAV. A few discoveries:

Intervision DVDs ($6.49)
The Sinister Eyes of Dr Orloff
Sledgehammer

One 7 Movies ($9.74)
Alien From The Deep
The Real Cannibal Holocaust
Sex & Black Magic
Transgression
--------------------------------------

At any rate, decided to order:

Sledgehammer
063390095629
Price: $6.49

Vampire Circus (DVD/BD Combo)
654930312292
Price: $9.74

Total $16.23

Sledgehammer is incredible.

A word of caution to anyone thinking about ordering The Real Cannibal Holocaust or Sex & Black Magic, don't.

Thanks OP, I picked up a few titles I was missing, hopefully this deal lasts a while, I might put in another order. First order I've put in a DD in 2 years, I do really hate them, lets see them prove me wrong.

Seth, Sledgehammer is incredible? Like, so bad it's good? I read some reviews that said it was horrible, but I do like flicks that are so bad they somehow become fun.

bse hit the nail on the head. It's the most entertaining movie I've seen for the first time this year.

How are the commentary tracks? I love when filmmakers are candid about their movie being less than stellar. Would this belong on the "No holds barred commentaries" thread?

Also, I'm curious about just how unredeemable you'd consider The Real Cannibal Holocaust and Sex & Black Magic. Has One 7 released anything entertaining? Their discs seem overpriced for trash with no special features. I was kinda curious about Alien From the Deep but not for a blind buy.

Re: ~$6.50 Synapse Films DVDs @ Deepdiscount.com

Thanks for the info! I went ahead and picked up Sledgehammer as well as Score on blu-ray so I would get free shipping. Not sure if I'll keep the latter. I generally like Metzger but the subject matter for this one doesn't really appeal to me.

There's two versions of Score available. One is a hard-R equivalent rating, and the other features some hard core scenes (it's the only movie Metzger did under his own name that features hardcore scenes). Be sure you know the version you're buying and whether it's suits your tastes or not.

I haven't listened to the commentaries on Sledgehammer yet so I can't comment.

Here are the reviews I wrote up for the screeners of the One 7 titles in question-

S&BM - http://infini-tropolis.com/reviews/s...ml#sexblkmagic (I was forgiving with the score on this one)

TRCH - http://infini-tropolis.com/reviews/s...ts-11.html#rch

Re: ~$6.50 Synapse Films DVDs @ Deepdiscount.com

Ack, you're right Seth. I was thinking this version of Score had both versions to choose from. Might have to make another order and just sell back the uncut Score. I'm usually a completist with footage but not sure I need the hardcore scenes. Thanks man!

Re: ~$6.50 Synapse Films DVDs @ Deepdiscount.com

Great write-ups, btw. And I agree with you on The Dorm That Dripped Blood. I got 10 minutes into and realized I'd seen it years earlier. Bored me the first time and couldn't sit through it a second time. It looks like its a student film because it basically is. Big slasher movie fan. But this one is overrated.

That particular review isn't mine I just do spot reviews on that site from time to time when my buddy who runs it needs the help in watching/reviewing stuff.
