Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Turns out Bridgeport Tacoma Wa had gotten almost everything mentioned here the last couple weeks. Last time i went in they said they hadn't gotten anything, so i hadn't bothered to go back.

There is a new $3 Nickelodeon display that was full. Everything else was severely picked through; not much of quality left.

Are there going to be boxed sets on Black Friday, saw a posting above but haven't seen anything in the sales ad?

Current guess is the $6 TV boxes were for BF but have gone out early.

MMMM, I didn't get the email, but apparently others did that BL is actually having a 1 day sale for these sets, on Thanksgiving day!

Perhaps that's why we are only seeing a handful of DVDs at stores that put them out too early? Just enough for one day?

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The Seekonk Mass. store put out the $6 tv sets. All thats been listed here like...

Beverly Hills 90210 seasons 1 and 2
Bosom Buddies season 1
The Odd Couple season 2
The Cleaner season 1
Charmed
Walker Texas Ranger

There wasn't much of them, and only 1 of the Bosom Buddies which I snagged. Those Christmas animated ones that have been mentioned are out as well too...

The Cricket on the Hearth
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Etc; etc;

Didn't pay that close attention to those as they were priced at $5.

This happened last year at some BL locations. Those stores ignored the simple fact that the sets were in the ad to go out for BF and put them out early. There were reportedly *no* additional ones put out later at these stores so if you didn't go in early you possibly missed out. The store here followed the rules and you had to brave the crowds. They had 6 waterfall displays full of the same 10-12 titles so it was pretty easy to get a copy of most titles they received, even days later, but that was not the case everywhere. What showed up here was not at some other stores and other stores got much different stock. A prime annoyance with BL and their stocking methods.

The Thanksgiving Day ad has been posted at Biglots.com and shows the sets. They open at 7am Thanksgiving day.

Anyone seen a Jag Season 10 show up? Only one I'm missing from completing the series.

Yay! Finally snagged a copy of Friday the 13th: The Series - S2!

Decided to not wait until Black Friday to get it at a possibly better price since I've been on the lookout for it for awhile.

Also seen:

A Bridge Too Far (2 disc)
Battle of Britain (2 disc)
Don McKay (Thomas Haden Church)
Housebroken (Danny Devito)
Star Trek: The Final Frontier (2 disc)

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Finally made it to a more distant BL yesterday where they had a lot of DVDs. Sadly the elusive Donald in Mathmagic Land and Ren & Stimpy the Lost Episodes are never around. I'd probably faint if I saw them. I did see Samantha Who S1 which I think people recommended. I forgot if other BLs had more than just S1?

I also saw several other titles people had talked about, but in the end I just got Samantha Who S1 October Road S1, Kidnapped Complete Series, and a Flash of Genius at $3 each. Now time to read reviews (when I get time between now and the return deadline in January) to see if the reviews sound like they're worth keeping.

Also, I haven't compared the list of $6 box sets posted above for BF, but on the surface it sounds almost identical to last year's, so if I don't make it to BL until very late on BF and nothing is left, I won't be too saddened because it was probably the same old same old sets I got last time.

Don't forget, they are actually being put out on BT,(Black Thursday? Still in the Red Thursday???) not BF! I normally hate retailers being open on holidays like this(from all my retail years) but I like it for the simple fact I don't think they are going to be slammed

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I'm looking for JAG Seasons 5 and 7-10. Not getting my hopes up.

I did find "Christmas in South Park" among the holiday DVDs in the Troy NY store Sunday...and grabbed it.

Other than that, been slim pickings around here lately. I did see the Fox titles, but aside from possibly "Juno" and "Melinda and Melinda," nothing tripped my trigger.

Were the Star Trek Films the special collectors editions with the grey border framing the movie poster artwork?

Your store(s) might get different stock. The one here has only 1 title I remember from last year (because I purchased that one). They have all seasons of Charmed *except* 7, Odd Couple S2, Bosom Buddies S1, Perry Mason 50th Anniversary Collection, and a few more. They're not out yet, I got a partial list from an employee who watches the DVDs for me. Most importantly - these are going out *Thursday* morning for Thanksgiving day specials *NOT* BF. I believe all stores will open at 7am Thursday (except for 3 NE states - I forget which - they'll have these out today).

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I saw a small $3 Fox batch that included:

Garfield The Movie (2 disc The Purrrfect Collector's edition)
Horton hears A Who! ( 2 disc Special Edition)
Fever Pitch (Curse reversed edition)
Night at the Museum (2 Disc special edition)
Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian
What Happens in Vega$ (2 Disc Special edition)
Marley and Me ( 2 Disc Bad Dog Edition)

Also saw some leaked $1.88 titles. Mostly stuff that's been seen before. It did include individual Pink Panther cartoon volumes.

Finally saw "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter SE". It was the only SE which I hand't already picked up there. Also, finally found a copy of "Sarah Silverman - Season 2, part 2" that didn't sound like it was full of floaters. Must have checked 15 copies or so over the past couple of months.

I'm going to stop posting anything i don't actually see with my own eyes, as some of my "sources" have been giving me very inaccurate info as of late.

Pearl Tacoma, Wa got the $6 4 film batch, tons of $1 Dirty Sanchez, & a few $5 titles. Saw the TCM war classics at $6, + a bunch of Warner 4 film on 2 dvd packs.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The Torrance store on PCH (the one closer to the 110 Fwy) had CSI: Miami S3-5 out about 3 hours ago. No sign of any others and it was too busy for me to ask an employee if they might put out any more tomorrow.
