Target Media Prices (November 20th - 23rd, 2011)

Super 8 $16.99
- There is a $5.00 off coupon; Target.com/Super8coupon (should go live before Tuesday; don't know if this is for Blu-Ray/DVD combo only)

A Madea Christmas $12.99

Spy Kids: All The Time In The World $16.99
Conan (2011) $16.99
Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas $16.99
Beauty And The Beast: Belle's Magical World $16.99

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World $4.99
Stone $4.99
Charlie St. Cloud $4.99
Night At The Museum $4.99
Chugginton: Lets Ride The Rails
(other unknown $4.99 titles available)

Love & Other Drugs $7.99
Social Network $7.99
The King's Speech $7.99
(other unknown $7.99 titles available)

Avatar $9.99

Britney Spears Live: The Femme Fatale Tour with bonus CD $13.99; available on the 21st

"Talyor Swift - Speak Now World Tour Live - CD/DVD" $22.99 with free $5.00 gift card; available on the 21st

Meet The Browns: Season 3 $19.99
Gilmore Girls: Seasons 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 $7.99 (each)
Friends: Seasons 1 - 10 $7.99 (each)
Nip/Tuck: Seasons 1, 4, 5 or 6 $7.99 (each)
The Office: Seasons 1 - 6 $9.99 (each)
Entourage: Seasons 1 - 7 $9.99 (each)
Burn Notice: Seasons 1 - 3 $9.99 (each)
NCIS: Seasons 1 or 2 $9.99 (each)

"Britney Spears - Femme Fatale" CD $9.99; available on the 21st

It reads that more TV shows will be $9.99 or $7.99. What I plan on doing Sunday is seeing if those seasons of "Entourage" still have the exclusive. Recall a few weeks back seeing a copy, forgot what season - still had Target's bonus disc. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Good deal if I find one, ten bucks.

Re: Target Media Prices (November 20th - 23rd, 2011)

By virtue of being in the DVD forum, I assume these are all DVDs, so I can't say I'm excited by any of those prices for a DVD. Well, except Super 8 may be a BD combo pack for $16.99 - $5 Target coupon = $11.99?

Since it's a new release and I liked the film (not loved it, just liked it), I could tolerate $11.99. Anyone know the details?

Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas and maybe Belle's magical world for me. Neither are in the Best Buy ad so I'll get them at Target on sale and get 5% off with my Target card.

I think the BD combo pack is $19.99 while the DVD is $16.99, but the coupon can be used on either. $14.99 seems like a pretty good price.

Well, $14.99 for a BD is a good price on a new release *IF* you really like the movie and want to watch it immediately. Back when I started DVDs I used to think $15 was a good price for anything, but now I shudder when I see $1.88 to $3 DVDs that I bought for $15 back before I wised up, and some of those $15 DVDs are still unopened. The same thing will happen with BDs as I've seen many for $4-$8 already. Super 8 BD should hit $10 by Christmas 2012 and probably sooner. The question is... do I want to pay $15 to see it again now, $10 to see it next year, or $5 to see it in 2013. I haven't decided yet.

I also have to keep remembering that only have 45 days to return unopened BDs to Target instead of 90 days like before. :-( Those 90 days were useful in case other better deals popped up. I worry that Walmart will follow suit as I believe they are still 90 days on unopened movies/games.

Super 8 is an awesome movie. One of the best movies from this past summer. IMO it's definitely worth a blind buy if you haven't seen it, but I guess you being a cheap bastard, your probably waiting for it to be $5 or less.

You know it's the Thanksgiving season when seasons of Entourage, The Office, Burn Notice and not let's forget Mad Men and Weeds, are on sale.

Thanks OP. May have to make an early morning trip to Target on Sunday.

cheap bastard
Sure, I'm okay with it hitting ten bucks or so - "Super 8".

I'm trying to save money to pick up "Tucker And Dale Vs. Evil" on the 29th. The thing is, I was flipping through a magazine and saw an ad for it. It had a notice for some kind of exclusive from Best Buy. I was in a hurry so I didn't read the fine print as to what it was. To make matters worse, I don't remember what magazine I was flipping through.

I have no interest in Super 8, especially at $16.99, if I ever saw it at BigLots for $3 I might blind buy it. If being a cheap bastard means I don't spend money on things I'm not particularly interested in, or that I won't pay new release prices on DVDs, then so be it...

Saves me a buttload of money. -kd5-

I saw Super 8 at the Imax theater, it cost about $13 per person! I only went because my parents were paying; I might buy the Blu-Ray at $15 or less. I'm such a cheap bastard I rarely go to theaters anymore.

jeez - now I wish I would've waited all these years to buy the Gilmore Girls DVD sets. I think, even on sale price, I'd paid $14.99 for most of 'em a few years ago.

Re: Target Media Prices (November 20th - 23rd, 2011)

Was at Target this morning and they had none of the 7.99 TV sets in the ad. No shelf space for them, no sale tags and no one knew anything about them. They checked their inventory and showed none in stock...

Re: Target Media Prices (November 20th - 23rd, 2011)

Just at Target a bit a go, and they had about 4-5 James Bond movies for 4.99 each. Not to bad, especially since if I heard right, they are going out in the "vault." Octopussy, Living Daylights, Live and Let Die are the ones I remember plus there was at least one Pierce Brosnan one. Picked up Octopussy. Had the others.

There were 2 2-sided displays in the girls clothes section that had these DVDs. It took almost an hour, weeding thru 2 VERY UNHELPFUL employees to finally track it down.

Ah, yes. Girls clothes. That makes since....

Actually that's where they are during Black Friday so I guess they're just getting some of the leg work done early. Did you happen to notice if there were any other titles besides the ones mentioned in the ad?

Re: Target Media Prices (November 20th - 23rd, 2011)

Went into Target today and got:

NCIS season 1-2 (9.99 each)

Entourage season 7 (9.99)

Lion King BD for $17.99

The selection of these "Sale" items was pretty thin. Also, alot of stuff that is on sale on Target.com is not being matched in store. For example, I saw Bridesmaids BD is $9.99 on Target.com, but the store is selling it for $19.99.

Don't think there were any other TV sets. I didn't really know what DVDs were in the ad, but none of them seemed like that much of a sale. Went back tonight and the Gilmore Girls, Friends and Nip/Tuck were picked through (though not completely sold out). Most of the other stuff seemed like they were barely touched including Entourage and The Office. Can you really blame people when the same TV seasons are on sale EVERY YEAR.
