Anyone know of a website or blog, or a list of video games that get gimped if you buy them used? IE: those with codes for important things (like MP functionality) that may or may not already be claimed if bought used?

Mass Effect 3/Dragon Age I know how has some things that can only be redeemed once..and if you buy a used copy..you would have to rebuy.

Not true on LA Noire for 360. PS3 Yes however.

Steam version in the PS3 copy only.

There was one bonus case in new PS3 copies. I wouldn't characterize the game as "crippled" without it though.

Speaking of PS3, SCEA has made the conscious decision to have an online pass for ALL new SCEA titles with online capabilities from Resistance 3 on out. So far that's Resistance 3, Uncharted 3 and Ratchet & Clank All-4-One, but figure it'll be on every one of their major titles next year like Twisted Metal, Starhawk and I'd imagine on all the big PS Vita titles as well.

The list should detail exactly what is missing, whether or not you can buy it separately, and how much that costs.

Although the games themselves aren't gimped, Rock Band games starting with RB2 have a code in the manual needed to get the songs on your system for play with other RB games. I read that they would give you a new code for RB2, but I don't know if they're still doing that, especially since they changed publishers.

With games dropping like a rock within a month or two, and no games in recent memory getting that hard to find, I haven't bought used in a long time.

How is Portal 2 crippled because it comes with a PC code? That has zero effect on the game or multiplayer. It's just a cool bonus.
