I usually love the little nods to past shows and actors, but damn do I hate Heroes...
As for the episode itself, I didn't care for it for the 2nd week in a row. Bummer. They really need to do some more domestic terrorism type plots.

The case of the week with the Animal poaching and the dude with cancer with mostly forgettable.
However, there was some awesome character interactions here.
Loved Danno getting emotional watching the birth scene in Enemy Mine.
at Matt Parkman and Hiro Nakamura's awkward "Reunion" I was kind of hoping that Max would say...."Is your name Matt?"
at the dog taking shotgun with Steve sitting in the backseat.

so is Danno's kid back on the island?
I thought the mother and kid had moved back to the mainland?

Yes, they are back on the island. In the 1st or 2nd episode he said his ex found out the baby was not his and went back to her husband and they stayed on the island. Last week Danno went trick or treating with his daughter.

Loved the secret interchange between the Heroes characters. This show is ridiculous in a lot of ways, and very predictable. It's almost funny to watch the formula play out each episode. And I can't believe how many regulars they find a way to fit in each 40-minute episode. But I still love it.

I thought that the Heroes nod was lame and predictable. What they should have done was:
Hiro: Haven't we met?
[Sudden closeup of Parkman's face with him slightly squinting and electronic noise sound effect]
Hiro: I'm mistaken. We have never met.

Having never watched Heroes I didn't get the joke. Now having someone explain it I still don't get it. But that's OK. Typical episode. Funny, sad and serious. I tend to like the episodes where Kamekona has a larger part. He is hilarious.

This is a fluff show, where stuff conveniently falls into their lap and it's almost always obvious how things are going to pan out, but I still enjoy it very much, despite all of that. lol.
