Calumet Photo: The Essence of Photography - $0.99 (online/b&m)
http://www.calumetphoto.com/eng/prod...ton_dvd/ce9915
Online and in-store. This normally sells for $39.99, but it's marked down to $0.99 (I was told they had way too many and were marking it down to clear it out (possibly a red flag right there?). In store they had probably 40 of them spread out everywhere with the $0.99 price).
I haven't seen it yet, but I've been told these Calumet DVDs are "hit or miss", so I'm not sure which this is (the trailer didn't do much for me and couldn't find any reviews). This one looks to be more of an info DVD than a tutorial/techniques DVD like most of their others.
Part of the description from the box...
"...provides a discussion of topics that include Upton's famous mentors, understanding how cameras work, learning to see pictures, photographic history and development of the photographic image..."
16:9 widescreen, 80 minutes, 2008 DVD
Shipping might be a dealbreaker (the calculator didn't work for me), but it's in-store at $0.99 if you have a local one.
