The moment they said they had to carry the beds to the pit stop telegraphed it as a nonelim.

Dad and son continue to not read their clues all the way. Trying to get the taxi driver agree to cram the beds in the car was funny.

Snowboarders awarded first again on another team's mistake.

Surprised Marcus didn't put it into double time when he saw Bill and Cathy come back around. Sure, he was probably extremely tired, but out of all people, I would have expected him to start running with both beds if need be.

At least there was a lot to do in this episode, not just traveling

The twins would have had a rough time toting the bales and carrying the beds.

Marcus has been pretty disappointing so far. You'd think he'd kick ass in the physical challenges, but he always seems winded. Possibly because these are more about endurance rather than pure strength.

Loved how oblivious the dad was to his sexist remarks about being surprised the women chose the trucks over sewing. He made four or five comments about it, with seemingly no one else joining in or reacting in a positive (or even joking) way.

The son is pretty good, but that dad is a tool.

How many non-eliminations has that been now? Three? I hope there are no more.

Yeah, the dad is a tool.

But you would think he would have tried to get back in shape ... he must have
access to some pretty decent trainers, exercise equipment.

Surprised they had them working in a tobacco factory....very non-PC. I wonder how much the producers paid those workers to constantly dance and cheer like they were having the time of their lives.

I agree about the non-eliminations. It's been too many in a short span. Sometimes I'm happy for folks when it's a non-elimination but I also think how differently a lot of the finales would have been without them. I personally think you should earn a non-elimination when you win two or more races rather than by coincidence.

Maybe Marcus ran out of $$$ and can't afford the decent trainers nor exercise equipments, that is why he is on the show.

It was neat to see the tobacco warehouse, PC or not. And Marcus seems to be suffering from the same affliction that tends to hit highly-trained athletes on this type of show. There's a world of difference between everyday hard work and the very focused training most athletes receive. For the Amazing Race or Survivor a real-life farmer would easily out-pace a star athlete with this sort of daily grind.

He doesn't have any more connections? Come on, even if he didn't have access to trainers, how about some of his former football buddies?

No way the tobacco workers gets to do that while on the clock, typically speaking; but the producers probably paid for their wages plus overhead and lost production for the entire day. I'd venture to guess that the show encouraged the singing and dancing from warehouse workers to jazz up the atmosphere during the competition. So those that like the prospect of being filmed by American TV or just like to sing and dance probably happily obliged.

Well, then they could use some training as well!

How about if he just ran around the block every day. That wouldn't have cost him a dime.

Bottom line, he knew months in advance that he was selected to be on this show, he's an ex football player, he knows how to get in shape.

And that doesn't help his wife carry the bed at the end. He made a comment and I have to agree that the hand cart isn't built for someone his height. So having to bend down that far makes it that much more physical a task.

Does the host ALWAYS say "The last team to arrive MAY be eliminated" or does he sometimes say "WILL be eliminated." An ongoing debate in the household.

Depends on the editing and the eventual outcome of the leg of the race...

On some legs, he says WILL if it is a for sure elimination or if the events in that leg caused an uncontrollable outcome.

To keep the suspense going, most episodes have him saying MAY.

Phil usually says that the last team to arrive at the pit stop MAY be eliminated, but sometimes he says WILL be eliminated. I think he usually only says that when all of the non-elimination legs have been used up. It's rare, but I do remember him saying it.
