I actually really liked this episode.
But then again, reminding Germany of the millions of people they killed while they're wanting to pretend they didn't have anything to do with it and are over it is always fun.
And can Christina Ricci's eyes get any bigger? She's practically walking anime.

Good episode. The best so far.
And I'm now in love with Karine Vanasse. She's fucking gorgeous!

I agree that this was the best episode so far. A little weird though when the solemn ending was quickly followed up with a "Hilarity ensues on the new Tim Allen Show ......." voice-over promo.

Where the hell did this show come from?! Here I was expecting a frivolous stewardess show only to get a solid post-WWII cold war thriller with a lot of heart. This show was barely on my radar and it's now become one of my favourite new shows of the year.
And the French stewie -- after the first episode I totally dismissed her and was wondering what the hell she was even doing on this show. After this episode, I think she's the best actress/character on the show and I am head over heels.

Excellent ep and I'm liking this show more every week.
Love the French girl Collette and the blond is super hot.
Still not sold on Dean the pilot. He looks like he's about 24 and straight out of central casting.
Not sure they had captains that young back then.

Agreed; the best episode yet. I really think the show is going to strive when it involves true events from the past.
But every retro seems to do that, and it'd be nice to see one that doesn't.

I almost choked on my drink when the French chick told them the reason she spoke German so well was due to being forced to learn it as a kid
WRT them being inserted into historical events, when are they going to be flying around cuba during the missile crisis? yes I know they were already at the bay of pigs, I was sort of taking a dig at x-men (even though I liked that movie) and the idea that Hollywood always has to has period pieces tie into history
Also, wouldn't the CIA be better served by getting a trained spy a job with Pan Am vs trying to turn a stewardess into a spy?

Definitely the best episode yet. Wasn't sure before, but I think I'm in for the full season. Karine Vanasse was fantastic. Also, Maggie's resourceful determination in tracking down JFK was very cute.

it's one thing to be set in an specific era, it's another to make the cast just happen to be interacting with historical events on a regular basis.

I really liked this ep. The french stewardess is awesome, and I enjoyed all the spy stuff too.
I really like Christina Ricci, but I wish she would actually gain a little weight. She looked a lot less skeletal and bug-eyed when she was a little bit heavier. Hell, even 10 more pounds would make a difference, I think.

Does anyone know what the red ribbons(?) were with the circular metal tags they wore hanging from their uniform pins at the party and at the beginning of the episode?

Almost 1 week late to the party, but I'll echo everyone's sentiments that this was a great episode.
Karine Vanasse was great. Enjoyed Colette's character development and her backstory about her past in Germany.
at Ted getting shot down by Laura during Kennedy's speech. Laura is absolutely stunning.
Loved Maggie's exploits to meet Kennedy. Very fun scenes.
I really hope the ratings stabilize and this gets a full season. This is such a fun and well written period show for network TV.
