I missed Tree of Life in the theaters. I don't care if it's $29.99, I'm buying it release week.

Thanks, OP!

Other TV DVDs that come out are sometimes 20 bucks. 30 bucks isn't really a sell.

Warner Bros TV on DVD always starts out between $35-45 in the first few months.

Well it's being sold for about $28 at Amazon for the DVD and no tax.

http://www.amazon.com/Vampire-Diarie...8179375&sr=8-1

and about $35 for the BD. That is definitely a little better than Target.

If your used to buying TV on DVD dirt cheap, don't expect any major bargains during the 1st few months of it's initial release. They will probably be selling this during the Holidays at around $20.

The thing is if it's a show I really really like, I want to support it and buy it in it's initial release when it makes money for all parties. I don't want to wait 6 months to a year for a huge price drop and it's essentially a money losing product. Another thing is people bitch about TV on BD not getting alot of love, but when people are refusing to pay $35-40 for it, what do you expect? The studio isn't going to make any money having the retailers drop their prices 50-70% and are less inclined to release anymore.

But staying on point with this being a Target sale thread, $30 for a brand new release like The Vampire Diaries isn't horrible.

Well, my trip to Target was uneventful, although for anyone who wants to get into NCIS, Seasons 1 & 2 are dirt cheap right now ($14.99/$13.99 respectively I believe). That new Walking Dead SE is on sale for $19.99. Other than that and a few TV shows I could care less about, my trip was a bust. -kd5-

Bestbuy.com had it for 27.99, in store it was 29.99 like target. Took two seconds to price match the website. Still not the cheapest, but a fair price for me who couldn't wait to watch...

I went there today and The Walking Dead is the older version from last year. The new special edition is not sold in Target stores.

What I saw at mine was the 3-disc SE on sale for $19.99, and one copy of it sitting on the shelf plain as day. -kd5-

Re: Target Ad Oct 09 - 15, 2011

^^ The Target website says it's $32.99. And I looked at the Sale Tag when I was there and it wasn't the new Special Edition that was on sale.

It's possible that they got it in and the store put it in where other Walking Dead DVDs are supposed to be, but didn't see the Sale Tag distinguishing it as the older version.

You're probably right. It was on the bottom shelf and I didn't get down and look at the sale tag closely. All I saw clearly was "The Walking Dead" on the tag and a 3-disc SE sitting in front of it. Shame on the idiot who put it in the wrong place. -kd5-
