Re: Target Ad Oct 2 - 8, 2011

This is just the week I was most anticipating the Target & BB ads with 4 titles I'll be getting (Lion King, African Cats, Fast Five & Scream 4). I was hoping they'd have a coupon at Disney for both of their titles but probably not. Maybe somebody'll have a deal where you save $6 or so when you buy both LK & AC on the same receipt. Oh well, just have to wait another 3 1/2 days for the actual ads to come out I guess. I'm spoiled by the early ads though.

So far all i see that i'm interested in is the FAST FIVE blu-ray+dvd combo pack but considering how fast the prices drop I think I'm gonna wait for a lower price

Look at the BB ad here: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bar...-5-2011-a.html
"Save $8 when you buy any Diamond Edition version of The Lion King AND Disneynature: African Cats or Beauty and the Beast Blu-ray 3D." Plus African Cats is $3 cheaper at BB.

I'd like to buy all of these movies too, but I just can't bring myself to pay over $15 for BD new releases. I'll have to wait for better prices. Well, except for The Lion King which I have seen and especially like (the rest I haven't seen) so it'll cost me just under $17 whether I leave my Amazon order intact or buy it locally with the $5 off coupon. The tough part for me is deciding if the 3D version of Lion King is worth $5 more, especially as nobody is certain if there are extras on the 3D BD disc or DVD disc in the 3D set or just on the 2D BD disc. That matters to me.

I just noticed the 3D set says the digital copy includes the Lion King soundtrack, and I guess that's a Target exclusive. I don't suppose anyone knows if the digital copy is playable as a CD in one's CD player or does it requires jumping through other hoops like activating the digital copy to get at the CD tracks?

And what to do about the new Planet Earth SE set (6 BDs this time) for $55? I'd really like it, but am afraid Fry's Electronics will have a better deal on it around BF. They used to advertise the old edition for $24.99 a lot, so maybe $39.99 for the new one? Who knows.

Re: Target Ad Oct 2 - 8, 2011

Thanks OP!

Went to Target yesterday, it's yet another week of no/lame sales. Besides the new releases, $9 DVDs on sale for $7.99, and none of them of any interest to me. Bleh. -kd5-
