Target Media Prices (September 25 - October 1, 2011)

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon $16.00

The Ugly Truth $7.00
The Bourne Idenity $7.00
Harry Potter And The Half Moon Prince (single disc version) $7.00
Dirty Dancing: Ultimate Edition $7.00

Jillian Michaels' Killer Buns & Thighs $10.00
Leslie Sanson's Walk The Pounds Away $10.00
Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners $10.00

Disney's The Princess And The Frog $15.00
Disney's Beauty And The Beast $15.00
Disney's Bambi $15.00
Gnomeo & Juliet $15.00

How I Met Your Mother: Season 6 $24.99
Army Wives: Season 5 $24.99

I was hoping for a listing for "Ben-Hur: 50th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition" DVD box. Nope. Besides that, I'll probably go to Best Buy, see the prices for "Holly's World: The Complete Seasons 1 & 2" and "Kendra: Seasons 2 & 3".

Checked online

"Holly" will be $24.99 (not much of a savings), but no listing for "Kendra", odd.

Is that $16.00 for just the barebones DVD edition of Transformers 3? If so, looks like Best Buy will get my money next week - $18 for the combo pack!

By the way, $7 for those SD titles just plain suck!

This Transformers 3 release will all be barebones. The special edition with features will be later this year.

Re: Target Media Prices (September 25 - October 1, 2011)

Went to Target earlier today, nothing noteworthy on sale yet again. That makes 3 weeks in a row where, with the possible exception of the new releases, they haven't had any decent DVD sales. I saw the same old tired $7.50 DVDs on sale for $7.00, the same old tired $9.00 DVDs on sale for $7.00, and that was about it. Nothing EXCITING! Have the salad days of the DVD sales at Target drawn to a close? Or are they saving it all up for a big EVENT happening sometime in the future? Whatever it is, I wish it would happen sooner than later. -kd5-

Yeah, at this point they're just drifting until November where they can start offloading stuff.

I feel the same way. You will get your horror films in a few more weeks and then nothing until the big holiday sales.

Re: Target Media Prices (September 25 - October 1, 2011)

Since were's talking "Media" and not just video... I went to Target last night & I found a sale on 5 of the Pink Floyd 2011 Remasters. Which, as you may know, were released just yesterday.

From 9/27-10/3: Buy 2 Pink Floyd CDs & get a $5 Gift Card

$10 (will be $13.99 next week)
Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Division Bell

$15 (will be $21.99 next week)
The Wall

The gift card says it's usable in store or on target.com.

I want to point out, however, that the majority of these CDs are packaged in flimsy cardboard digipaks that barely provide any protection for the CDs. The Wall is the only one where the discs are protected, because of the foldover packaging. I compared all 5 albums in hand and, aside from Wish You Were Here, the right edge of the discs were clearly protruding from the cases against the shrink wrap! Wish You Were Here had slightly more robust packaging for some reason.
