S-Video or Component video?

OK, so which is better?
My current TV only does normal old rca video, but I'm looking around for a new TV and will most likely be getting a "real" TV after Xmas. My dvd player has rca, svideo and component(?) video where I need like 3 seperate cables to connect it..
When I'm shopping around, which would I be better off focusing on, S-Video or Component Video?

I don't plan on spending more than $3000, thats the most I could ever hope to afford, and after seeing that TV in action, IMO it looked better than even some of the $5000 models, up close and far away.. and the room it'll be in I'll only be about 10-15' away from it.. so it'll hafta be good up close as well as far away if I ever move and have a bigger room for it
So anyway, which would be better to go with?
And here's another thing I've been wondering... TVs like the one I've been looking at come with big stands with big speakers and all... but, if it's going in a home theatre, chances are it's gonna get connected to a reciever.. is it possible to get TVs without speakers like that, maybe to save some cash, if you're not gonna use the speakers it comes with anyway?

For the best quality picture you should go with the component video whenever possible. The Toshiba set your interested in is a very popular set. Several of the DVDtalk forum members have them. From what I've read some folks believe that even with the factory included stand the set sits about six inches to low for optimum viewing. Some viewers have constructed six inch platforms that sit below the factory stand\TV to improve the viewing angle. If you plan to purchase this set you may want to check out the following resource sites for ISF calibration and self help adjustments.
