Top Gun - now in 3D! (coming 2012)
The Danger Zone is now in 3D. There is NO reason for this.
Top Gun Being Converted to 3D

Tony Scott's Top Gun is being converted to 3D by Legend3D, says The Hollywood Reporter. The Tom Cruise-starrer, which originally earned $353.8 million at the worldwide box office in 1986, looks to be returning to theaters with the added dimension in early 2012.
The trade says a converted version of the 'Danger Zone' aerial flight sequence was previewed at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam on Monday.
"As I understand it, they are planning to release it in 3D in early 2012, though I [know] they want to get Tony Scott's approval before they go forward," Legend3D CEO Rob Hummel said. "I think Top Gun lends itself to 3D due to the aerial flight."
He added that Legend3D has a revenue sharing deal with Paramount and is funding the conversions themselves.

Snake, during the vollyball scenes, if the song Playing with the Boys does not tug your heartstrings, you are just a cold person.

Tom Cruise doesn't look bad at all. He looks exactly how you'd expect Maverick to look after 25 years.
Kelly McGillis looks awful though. Those 25 years have no been kind to her.

I hated this in 2D. I refuse to see it in (converted) 3D.
And damn. 25 years were good to Cruise. McGillis looks like 50 years have passed (not that she was ever much of a looker).

I do like the movie but will have to pass in 3D. They really need to show Val Kilmer in the "now" picture. Oh yeah, wouldn't be able to fit him in the pic.

I will go see it, I missed the AMC showing this year. It would be fun to see on the big screen.

What an overrated, crappy film. Do they really think this will turn enough of a profit to justify the cost of conversion?
