Ultimate Argument Scene - Six Feet Under vs. The Sopranos

Thought it'd be fun to see what everyone's thoughts were as I was thinking about this the other day. Not sure if there is much interest in it though, but I've never seen better arguments on television than I have these two:

Both top quality dramas with excellent writing, directing and ensembles.

Both had a similar scene containing a strong, dramatic screaming match between significant others.

Which show has the best argument?

Both clips are NSFW for language and both have obvious spoilers (from season 2 of Six Feet Under and season 4 of The Sopranos).

I really enjoyed the tension of the Sopranos argument, but the sheer stripped down nature and handheld camera work for the SFU scene makes it like you're right there in the fight. I also think the acting between Krause and Griffiths is a little more natural.

Definitely Six Feet Under for me. Rachel Griffiths is so great in that scene. It's raw and has an improvised feel to it. The writers also did a good job of bringing all of Nate and Brenda's issues to the surface.

For me, it's The Sopranos. I still remember that scene, whereas I'd have to refresh my memory of the SFU scene. Carmella going up against a murdering mob boss? And just not verbally, but physically? Raw.

I think Six Feet Under was a better series but the fight with Tony was amazing.

Sopranos, but in great part due to the nature of the series. There was a distinct possibility that you were watching Carmella committing suicide before your eyes.

Not too off-topic... but I'm in the middle of season 3 of Six Feet Under and it blows. How long do I have to wait until Brenda comes back?

Boo! Season 3 is the best season of the show, IMO. If you're in the middle of the season you know she's already back.

Definitely raw and realistic. I love that both are so darn guilty.

I loved how everything came to the surface with her mental "love affair" with Furio. I remember wanting to see Tony's face once she brought it all out there.

She finally did come back I was about one episode out when I typed it. I'm still not caring too much for season 3 though.

You may appreciate it more once you finish the entire season.

That kidnapping episode still gets a 'wtf!?' giggle out of me whenever I think of it.

This thread makes me want to rewatch Six Feet Under, such a great show. And man I always thought Rachel Griffiths was so hot.

Nate and Brenda without a doubt. It had been in the making forever, and reminded me so much of some of the worst fights I've had with ex's. I just found it a lot more relatable (minus the fiance sleeping with two surfer dudes).

I watched the series from pilot to finale at least three times and to this day i think the third season was the worst... but the second half is an improvement from the first. A lot of fans didn't care for season 4, but I felt like 4 went more back to the theme and heart of the earlier episodes.

I was actually going to comment that there are people that actually think season 4 is better than 3 - but critterdvd already brought it up.

However, I think season 4 is the 'worst' from the show so...

Definitely. When Nate put two and two together with the surfer dude and her novel - my jaw hit the floor.
