Though Paramount have yet to officially announce it for release in North America, it looks like Captain America: The First Avenger will hit Blu-ray in a 2-disc combo pack on October 25th. I’m not seeing any evidence of a 3D version released domestically but this detail, of course, could change.
Special Features:
-Commentary by Director Joe Johnston, Director of Photography Shelly Johnson and Editor Jeff Ford
-Marvel One Shot: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer
-Featurettes

I had a great time with this one. Day one for sure.
Shame we aren't getting a director's or extended cut. I would have liked to see some of the action from the post-vibranium montage in non-montage form. That and the ending felt clumsily abrupt.
I also wish we were getting b&w movies seen during the USO montage as separate features.

This will look AMAZING on Blu Ray. Because the production on this film was nothing short of gorgeous.

The animated Avengers is really good. I just wish they would show more than a few at a time, and wish I knew when they were going to be on. Before they started the series, they ran a bunch of shorts to set the series up. I just happened to catch them on one day. DisneyXD didn't even promote the shorts (that I saw), just the series premiere, but the shorts set up the series. What you're talking about seems like one of the shorts. I never could figure out when they aired new episodes, but I would try to catch them on OnDemand. But OnDemand seemed to put them out of order. When they aired the last run of them (which weren't but a few) I found out when they were coming on and watched them, but then it seemed like I missed one or two at the beginning, even though I thought I watched the "season" premiere. It's so confusing how they air them. I'm just looking forward to them bringing them back, as it ended with a cliffhanger, and I really want to know what happens.

Dang... I much prefer the artwork on the 3D edition over the one on the non-3D. But there's no way I'm paying extra for the 3D version.

Ugh, not really feeling the artwork on the 2D version, but I guess it's whats inside that really counts.

Best Buy will have an exclusive comic book slip cover like Thor. The comic book image is on the back while the front is a close-up image of Cap from the 2D cover art but the characters in the background are gone.

3 months and 3 days from Theater to Release on BR, that's not a record, but it is pretty short.
Almost like, why go to the summer movies if they are going to be released just 3 months later. The reason is because the are so much fun to watch with my wife on a date.
We must have watched about 14 or 15 movies over the summer (4 or 5 months) and had tons of fun experiencing them on the very large screen with tons of people, as long as they were being respectful.
All that being said, CA was fun, but not the best the best movie I watched and would like to pick up on BR.
