Synopsis for Compassion:

Spoiler:
Ryan's nutty mother (Mary Steenburgen) moves in with him after spending 20 years in a "wellness center" and bonds with Wilfred instantly, adding fuel to Ryan's already-considerable resentment of her.

Synopsis for Isolation:

Spoiler:
Wilfred is troubled by Ryan's tendency to keep to himself ("People are beginning to think you're weird," he tells him), so he sets out to make his human friend more sociable. Of course, Wilfred also has an ulterior motive.

Episodes 9 and 10 of 13

Re: Wilfred -- 2 episodes -- "Compassion/Isolation" -- 8/18/11

Ryan: "You son of a bitch!"
Wilfred: "How is that an insult? I've never understood that."

Ryan: "Eat shit! Eat shit!"
Wilfred: "Again, your tone says insult, but what I'm hearing is a tempting offer."

The second episode was funny, but the first was hilarious. Loved Wilfred rolling around in the paint.

Just wanted to add that Mary Steenburgen is one hot 58 year old.

The 1st episode was awesome. 2nd was good, but not even close to the 1st. God, I love this show. to FX for adapting this and giving it another season.

Loved the reveal at the end that Ryan's mom also saw what he sees.

Sat down and watched this for the first time last night - cracked up almost all the way through. Good stuff.

Wilfred, holding fingers close together: "do you know what this is?"

Ryan: "let me guess, the length of my dick?"

Wilfred: "No, it's the amount of compassion you have for your mother....but it's also the length of your dick"

Glad this got renewed for a second season.. Are these episodes similar or completely different compared to the original?

Haven't watched the original yet, but from what I hear, the American version stands on its own.

This show is really hitting on all cylinders. I'm just hoping the jokes don't go stale next season. There only so many "dog stereotypes" jokes.
