How many hours per week do you play video games?

I am 32 years old with a full time job and a wife and 7 month old baby. I was just wondering how much time everyone has to play video games. I used to play 2 to 3 hours per night before I had my son 7 months ago. I didn't play any for about 4 months. Babies are quite time consuming . I have gotten back into games somewhat over the past couple of months. I play around an hour each night. so that would be around 7 hours a week. I should be able to probably get another hour in here and there whenever the baby starts going to bed earlier. Single player games have really taken a hit with my reduction in gaming time. Since I just have an hour or so -- I want to cut my xbox on and jump into some action. I don't want to use my hour watching cut scenes or wandering around looking for a key.

Not many. Maybe 100-150 hours a week?

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

It varies. I would say I average about 8 to 10 hours a week. Some days I don't get on at all, on weekends or other days I'll play for 2-3 hours, sometimes more. During Monday thru Thursday, I am only home from about 6:00pm to 10:00pm before going to sleep. Then I'm back up a quarter to 5am to go to work. That, and I want to spend time with my wife (since she actually appreciates my company), watch wrestling, review movies and just live life. During college, I was probably averaging 20-30 hours. How times change, but until my hands don't work anymore, I will always play games to some extent.

Depends on the week. Since I only play Call of Duty it starts out really high and then slowly goes down as the weeks and months go by. By now I'm down to probably 5 or 6 hours a week.

Probably average out to about 3 hours per day. Would be more if I didn't work so much.

It was about 3-4 hrs a week but since I started Borderlands, I've been hooked and it's gone up to 3hrs/day on the weekdays to more than 5 hrs/day on weekends.

LOL yeah Borderlands is one of the most addictive games I have ever played. There is no telling how many hours I spent just looting New Haven over and over and over.

I'd say about 15-16, which is pretty decent, given that I have 3 kids under the age of 3 and work full time.

About 20-25 hrs per week. That might be doubled when Skyrim and Old Republic come out

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

Not as many as I want, or think I will play. The XBox that I have all of my stuff DL'd on is in the living room, so I often sacrifice playing so someone can watch TV without having to go to another room. It seems like even when I have the time I don't play as much as I'd like...I'd say 8-10 hours a week. Once the weather tanks a bit, and from the day Dead Island comes out through March or so, that number will probably be around 20-24 hours a week.

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

During the school year (I teach) its probably about 5-8 hours a week. Once football season starts, it will go down on the weekends. After football season it will go up, then in the summer it will be 16-20 hours a week. I have 2 small kids, but in summer I stay up to midnight and just play. During the school year, usually bed by 10:30.

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

Sadly it's getting less and less as I get older, however it really all depends on what is out.

For example, I have nothing to play right now, so my logged time has been zero for 2 weeks now. I don't really replay games nor play online, so once I finish the single player game I am finished with it.

Starting next month, once all the big games for 4th quarter come out, I'll probably be looking at 10 hours a week.

How strange, I use to play more when I was married, find the wife a game and get her hooked LOL.
When I got laid off in Feb, I was playing 5-6 hours a day, I have started going to school, I have a lot of reading to do, so now it is down to about an hour a day, maybe 2 on the weekend.

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

3-4 hours per week anymore. I almost feel like I'm out-growing gaming... but I know that will change when BF3, MW3 and SR3 come out in November

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

I used to play roughly 10-20 hours a week. But then a new job, and two promotions later, and suddenly I have about 1 hour a week to spare...and most of the time I'm too tired. :-( So many games left unplayed or unbeaten!

Re: How many hours per week do you play video games?

I try and get a night or two in during the week and then a couple hours on the weekend. So about 8 - 10 hrs a week total.

I hear that. Sometimes the remote with DVR is less work and easier to fall asleep too. Although, I have had times where I'm playing Madden and next thing I know its 1st and 40 after another delay of game penalty. Those are rare, but it has happened.

Madden 12 will recharge me though.

yeah but see, I'm a guy so... marriage = all about her and what she wants.

Actually, she likes to watch me play. I've been thinking of getting some kind of co-op type game we can both try or some kind of arcade type game she would dig.

It is extremely rare that my wife will play a video game. She only cares about old school side scrolling platformers -- Super Mario Bros in particular. However, I did get her to play co-op with me on 'Splosion Man and we had a ball. Try that one with your wife.

Around 1 - 2 hours a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.

It's one reason why I hate artificially extended games.
