So Amazon has Seasons 1-4 of The Twilight Zone on blu-ray at $46.49 each this week. It looks like they may have sold seasons 1-3 at that price back in May of this year, and I'm sure they will do it again. For now I am sticking with my DVD "Complete Definitive" collection, but I have read enough good stuff about the blu-ray releases to decide I am eventually going to upgrade. If one were to buy these 4 sets now and eventually get Season 5 (due on August 30) for the same price at some point, that's about $230 total.

I imagine at some point there will be a "Complete Definitive" blu-ray collection of all 5 seasons as well, which is what I suppose I am waiting for (even though it is tough to pass up the single season boxes at $46 each!). I just looked on Amazon and season 5 of the "Complete Definitive" DVD set came out on December 26, 2005, while the full, 5-season box came out October 3, 2006, so about 9 months later.

Any guesses from TZ fans here as to when a full, 5-season DVD box might come out--and what it's price might be? Considering the "Complete Definitive" DVD set could be had for about $100 within a year of its release ($80+ now from Amazon Marketplace sellers for a new copy), it would be surprising to see the blu-ray set as high as $230 for very long--$150 seems more likely, but probably not at first. Since I am happy for now with my DVD set (haven't yet even watched through it all), I am inclined to pass on the good deal from Amazon now. I would appreciate if anyone has thought this through and thinks I am way off base.

BTW, one good thing is that for the many that have been buying the sets as they are released (which is what I usually do with my favorite shows, but something I am trying to resist of late), at least if the DVD set is a guide, there won't be anything much extra in the box set when it does come out--the DVD set included the book "The TZ Companion" which is available elsewhere.

Mine arrived yesterday...I was expecting this to be an Amazon BF deal for about $200 and was very disappointed. To be able to grab these at just over $30 a seaon was a very pleasant surprise.

I know it's an old post but if you're patient and wait for good coupons to show up, like at Barnes & Noble, you can pick them up for $30-35 if you missed the sale.

Those look like the same sets that sell individually, only this time in a pretty box. If you buy them individually, you could pay over $300 but this will probably jump up and down in price like every other time they've sold them in the past.

Anyone paying $339 is getting ripped off, as each of the individual sets have been available for under $50 at one point or another. I can't see any new extras being added, the current sets are jam-packed.

I'm not surprised they're doing a Complete Series set. That's what I've been waiting for, personally.

I've been able to buy or obtain the first three seasons separate of course. But I have saved a little bit of money by having family or friends buy me a season for Christmas / Birthday which cuts down my total cost of the series. I could never afford to shell out $339 or whatever the cost is for the set all at once.

Yea, great news but I'm holding out until there's a significant price drop. Took me too damn long to get all the DVD sets, so I'm in no rush here.

The cheapest way to acquire the Twilight Zone on Blu-ray is importing the sets from the UK. Identical discs with slightly different packaging.

I had heard elsewhere that they were either region locked or there was some other concern about them not playing on american equipment. Have I been led astray by this casual acquaintance of mine?
