"Paul" Blu-Ray from Best Buy defective?

I was just curious to see if anyone else was having problems with the "Paul" Blu-Ray from Best Buy. I purchased it from one location and it was skipping midway so I exchanged it at another location and have suffered the same situation. I performed an firmware update and still have the same issues going on. I have tried other blu-ray discs and they seem to play flawlessly. Can it be the disc or am I overlooking another troubleshooting exercise? By the way I have the "Toshiba" BDX 2000. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Wrong forum. I would suggest you try another player to be sure.

Must be the ones from there. I bought mine at FYE and it works fine.

I got mine from Best Buy and it works fine. Watched it twice (once with commentary).

Interesting first post. Welcome into forum.

Try the disc in another player at the store if you can.

You probably need a firmware update. I have a BDX-2000 and they were rushed to the market for the holidays. Contact Toshiba and they should send you a disc. I was able to update it through the toshiba.ca site because I had two Lionsgate BDs that wouldn't work, so I wasn't willing to wait a week or two for them to send it out.

The Toshiba player is just a clone of the cheaper Chinese ones.

Like others suggested, try a different player....or upgrade. I don't think Toshiba supports that player much.

I have a Sony s360 with the most up to date firmware and purchased my copy of Paul at Best Buy. At the 1 hour 18 minute and 13 second mark on the unrated version it locks up and will not play past there. It plays surprisingl just fine in my PS3 (I say that becuase my PS3 plays games no problem but for some reason has lots of issues playing movies which is why I had to go buy a different player)

My copy of Paul - purchased from Best Buy - plays fine on my Toshiba BDX2200 (02/11/11 firmware, not connected) and no problems watching it on my Philips player, either. No stuttering, no stopping, no sound issues. But at the aforementioned 1:18:13 mark of the unrated version, the progress bar that you get when you press "info" suddenly jumps forward. The timer keeps going and the film is playing normally, but the progress bar acts as though you've just skipped a chapter. I would never have noticed it if I hadn't hit the button to check that exact time.

EDIT: and apparently it only happens when you play the film from the beginning all the way through to that point. If you start the film with that chapter, the progress bar behaves normally.
