The brother of In Bruges's director. Trailer looks pretty good:

Anyone see this one yet? I know it's shown in a few places around the country. John Michael McDonagh is the writer and director. His brother, Martin, is the exec. producer who was the writer/director of the great "In Bruges". Appears to be some talent in the family.
Ebert gave it 3 1/2 stars. Been looking forward to this one.

I saw this, very much enjoyed it. Cheadle is fine as always but Gleeson knocks it out of the park. He's fascinating to watch. Didn't much care for the ending but it's a really good pic.

94% on Rotten Tomatoes so far.
It appears to be in fairly limited release so far. Not playing anywhere near DC at all yet.

Not quite up to the standard set by Martin McDonagh's In Bruges, but it's still very, very funny and easily one of the better movies I've seen this year. There's maybe five or ten minutes where it's a bit shaky, but once Cheadle shows up the movie is gold.

As with In Bruges, this one did not quite live up to the hype for me, but it was quite enjoyable nonetheless.

Saw it a few weeks ago. Once I got my "thick accent ears" on, it was great. Couple of turns I didn't see coming, some original characters acted realistically, and funny too. Liked it a lot!

This was great and I was going to write a review on Amazon UK but I saw another release due out in January - anyone know what is going on? Why 2 releases so close together?

In total agreement. Easily the best comedy I saw in 2011. Watching the comedy down in Texas, the audience didn't know how to react when Brendan Gleeson's character made a reference to the Branch Davidian incident in Waco.
Great stuff.

Ok, I never knew Gleeson could be this funny....I seriously had some crazy from the gut laughs while watching this and Cheadle.....good god I swear they picked him for his reactions alone.
It starts to drag a bit towards the end but I could care less......I cannot believe how fucking funny this movie is.

Very very enjoyable movie. Loved all the stuff between Gleeson and the kid - known a few scamps like that in my time. Shame this sort of performance seems to get overlooked in favour of pictures about computer generated robots beating each other up, but thems the breaks.
