Big Audio Dynamite on tour...
Saw them last night in Boston---sounded really great. This is the original lineup, and they're focusing mostly on stuff from their first 3 albums. I never got a chance to see them in their heyday, and this made up for it. They don't look much different at all, except Mick now has no hair, and Don Letts' and Leo Williams' dreadlocks are now almost down to the floor. Well worth checking out if the tour comes your way.

I wish Simple Minds would roll thru the USA again. My only time seeing them was on a holiday radio show back in the late 90s, so they only got about an hour slot.

I saw Simple Minds twice in Boston between '90-'95. Really great live, and I've kept up with most of their studio releases since then. I think they tour pretty regularly in the UK/Europe, but I don't know when they came to the US last.

B.A.D. was just on Fallon. Really great. I'll be honest and say that while I'm a HUGE Clash fan, I never invested any time into BAD. Time to start with the back catalog. 1st or 2nd album first?

I would say the first two are fairly equal, and those are the best BAD albums. I might say I prefer the first album, as Mick had a really clear artistic vision as to how BAD would be something very unique and distinct from The Clash. It really lays a cool groundwork for the band. With the second album, "No. 10 Upping St.", Mick had patched things up with Strummer, and Joe co-wrote half the songs on the album or so--so it probably has a bit more of a Clash vibe:

The third album, "Tighten up Vol. 88" was a bit lighter in tone, but still had a bunch of good tunes on it. After that album, I think most of the original guys left, and Mick started another incarnation of the band. I'm not as familiar with the albums after that, although I thought Megatop Phoenix was quite good.
