A Serbian Film 10/25/11

Here we go. After it's brief theatrical run and appearance on VOD through FlixFling in the US, A Serbian Film is coming to home video on Blu-ray and DVD from independent distributor, Invincible Pictures. Invincible haven't made a formal announcement of content, runtimes, or extras yet, but they have made listed the Blu-ray as a "Limited Edition" on their own website.

In my previous conversations with Invincible, they told me that their intention was the release their unrated version, with approximately 1 minute cut, available on home video. There is no indication that this has changed, as the promotional artwork seen below indicates an unrated edition. If that is the packaging as well, I think it looks pretty cool.

Hehe, thanks for copying my typos, I've gone back and fixed them.

So even though unrated, it is still a cut version? Did any place get the full uncut version?

Norway had an uncut version but it didn't have any English. The rated UK release is cut even more.

It would be nice for some company to put this out fully uncut, but I'm not sure how easy that would be.

Now I'm curious what scenes will be cut. Maybe the final act?

If the sales are strong enough, they will undoubtedly release an uncut version next year for the old double-dip.

Makes sense. Thing for me is I'd like the uncut film for my collection, but I don't know if I liked the film enough to buy it twice (if it ever came to that)

There are two cuts. I haven't seen the uncut version, but they seemed pretty obvious:
Spoiler:

In the "newborn porn" you don't actually see the baby, you hear it and it is implied, but you never actually see the doll.

I think they cut a shot showing Milos' son's face toward the end during the sequence where he and his brother are raping his wife and son. I don't know that you see the son's face, but it makes sense that you would.

Everything else I've read about is intact.

I think I can live with this "edited" version. My friends have told me it's fucked up enough that they didn't even want to see whatever was cut. Not sure if I'd blind buy, but it's on my list.
