Help with the title of a film please.

My memory of the film I am about to describe is pretty good.

This boy and girl are dating/live next-door to each other, he's new to town, something like that.

No, that's not it.

I remember in one scene the guy sneaks through the girls bedroom window as everyone is sleeping (double story house), to have sex with her while her parents are sleeping in the next room. Then at one point of the film the girl realizes he's a nutcase and her father punches him once on the front-lawn of the house and another time when he dropped her off at school. Then in the last scene of the film the guy takes a bunch of people to the families home trying to get in and I remember the family are wondering where the dog is and they notice the dog with it's head sticking through the dog door and one of them went to get the dog and realized that the dogs head had been chopped off (I wont say dog again. Promise!!!).

I don't know if he tried to take a crack at the mother and that's why things when sour between himself and the girl, but that's all I remember. The Girl might or might not have had a younger sister. Sorry, that's all I remember.

It's Fear(1996) with Mark Wahlberg as the crazy boyfriend, Resse Witherspoon as the daughter, and William Petersen as the dad.

^^^ Looks like a real winner.

I love how I started my post with...

Yet, I downloaded/watched the movie in question earlier and nearly everything I described was completely wrong.

"Fear" was indeed the movie, but my memory of it was worse than I thought. I must say even though they're pretty big names now I had no idea Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon or Alyssa Milano were all in the movie as it's been so long since I watched it last.

William Peterson did look familiar until I Googled him and realized he plays Grissom on CSI. I don't watch the show but anyone who watches TV has at least heard of him.
