Ascencion: Chronicle of the Godkiller iOS
This came out this evening as a universal app for 4.99 and is something all CCG fans might want to check out.
The tabletop game has been out for a bit and just recently got an expansion (which according to the developer will be coming as an iap at some point). The game was designed by some guys who were champions on the Magic the Gathering tournament circuit so they know a little bit about balancing and how to break games.
A couple big things of note:
It is a deck building game (like Dominion, Thunderstone, etc.) - a genre that is super popular right now.
It will allow for multiple players in an online game. It is asynchronous but gives you a little indicator so you know if your opponent is currently logged in. The idea is it will blend async with sync if folks want to make a flurry of moves.
It will also allow the players to have an AI controlled player in a multiplayer online game - from what I have seen this is a first.
Finally it will have single player (against the AI) as well as a pass and play option for local games.
