this movie though is best experienced with a large audience, because as the film progresses so do the comedy-gore-pratfalls - so the gasps, laughs and 'ewwwws' are part of what makes the film a total gas

Some friends and I saw a workprint of this at Horrorhound in March and it was hilarious. I'll gladly support the filmmakers by taking the wife to see it when it makes it to theaters.

a workprint in March ?? - this movie premiered at Sundance 2010 (January) - and then made the horror film festivals throughout 2010 - what I saw in October looked pretty much like a final cut (sans distributor logo)

I watched it a while back via...not-so-legal means and thought it was great! I'll definitely catch it in theaters if it shows anywhere near me. Should be a good time with a crowd.

Weird. Somebody supposedly associated with the film intro'd it at Horrorhound and said they were still finalizing effects and music in spots. There were a couple places where effects needed to be added and the score dropped out in a couple places. Maybe they decided to make edits from the version shown in 2010 or maybe Horrorhound was full of shit and just had somebody intro an illegally downloaded copy. Either way, great film and I'm excited to see the final version.
