Love Bites -- New NBC Comedy -- Premieres 6/02/11
By djariya at 2011-06-02
Synopsis for "Firsts"
Spoiler:
9 episode series. This was supposed to air last season, but got postponed because of the showrunner quitting and Becki Newton's pregnancy. This is essentially being burned off this summer. I figure 1 thread will be good enough in case anyone is interested in checking this out. I figure I will at least watch the Pilot. Lots of cool guest stars.
Interesting seeing Darryl from The Office in this.
Starring:
Becki Newton (Ugly Betty)
Greg Grunberg (Heroes)
Constance Zimmer (Boston Legal, Entourage)

FYI, Jordana Spiro is heavily featured in the original trailer along with Pamela Adlon, both was replaced before they went to series production.

The original pilot was honestly beyond great - hilarious and actually touching in moments. I hope it wasn't changed too much.
I honestly think with the right audience and marketing this could be a small summer hit for the network.

Wow, a lot of familiar faces in this. Glad to see Krysten Ritter ("Breaking Bad", "Gravity") in a new series.

I thought this was a really good first episode. Can't wait to see more.
But is Constance Zimmer playing the same wife of Gregg Grunberg as the lady from Californication did?

I hope this does not get canceled and it nice a scripted show premieres on a major network in the summer instead of another reality show.

Who masturbates with a sex toy fully clothed? Wearing 2 shirts no less?
I get this is network TV, and I would have understood the white shirt and shorts, but the second shirt just completely threw me out of the scene.
That being said, the show has its flaws, but damn if it wasn't pretty good hour of television. Although I was om the fence for most of the episode. The Grunberg sequence really saved the show in my eyes.

Maybe this show isn't CANCELLED cancelled. According to Wikipedia:
I really enjoyed it and hope it comes back.
After numerous delays, NBC announced that the 9 completed episodes are set to premiere on June 2, 2011, 10/9c despite the cast and crew having moved on to other projects. Despite this [Becki] Newton has stated that she would love to make more episodes and anything could happen.

There's a reason why it was put out in June. They don't want the stink of the old regime either. A 1.0 won't grow. If they wanted it to succeed they would air it Out of Americas Got Talent or The Voice and not reruns. Dead.

This was pretty damn funny. I know it's a long shot, but I hope it sticks around. Much better than most of the crappy comedies on right now.

Bleh. I kind of liked the segment with Krysten Ritter (), but thought the rest sucked. An hour-long format is too much for what seems to be your standard sitcom.

Just an FYI this was actually the fourth episode filmed. The original pilot and two following episodes will not air because they were filmed before production went to hell.

Caught it on Demand.
Overall felt too sitcom-y and contrived, but i was laughing in spots. I think given enough time it could have found a better voice. I enjoy seeing that googly eyed chick from Breaking Bad, and have a bizarre fascination with Greg Grunberg (who will always be half of Shmeghan to me)
I was also very surprised to see a blatant cunnilingus (cuddliness for you Polanski fans) scene/depiction.
