So happy with the budget-priced Taxi Driver BR. I'll be getting that first free moment I get on Tuesday. Best version yet (feature-wise, too) of one of the best American films, and as cheap as your bare-bones Lionsgate catalog title. Nobody else biting?

Nothing of interest to me in the store either, although if you're into HBO shows, I think this might be one of the only times I've ever seen alot of them on sale. Might be worth it to someone who is a fan of HBO series to check it out. I'm not a fan so I didn't note which ones were on sale, sorry. -kd5-

Picked up "the Batman" cartoon, season 1 and season 2 for $9.99 each. Not a huge markdown but for less than $10 I'd pull the trigger. For $14.99 & $15.99 I would not.

I think it was mentioned over at the BD Bargain forums, that only the DVD of Scott Pilgrim is part of that sale.

The page for the BD of Scott Pilgrim does not list it as being on sale.

Bought both "Tron" titles.

There is a error on the "Tron: The Original Classic" release (yes, re-release; my store only had one copy). I thought I had two copies of the movie. Both discs are identical, label-wise. There is no text saying 'disc 1' or 'disc 2'. There must have been a pressing error. (I wonder if that makes it a collector's item).

Anyhow, both discs are different. Very odd.

The answer.

A lot of people, including myself wanted to know if the rumor was true that Disney redid the CGI on the movie to conform to the effects on "Legacy". Well... the effects have been cleaned up a bit and the colors are more vivid, but for the most part - it's still the same 1982 film. It appears to have less grain.

Side note.

There is a second "Tron: Legacy" soundtrack - "Tron: Legacy Reconfigured". This CD features various artists doing cover music to the Daft Punk score. Best Buy has it for $13.99.

Best Buy is having their "Trade N' Save" promotion where you can trade any DVD movie for $5 off toward any of their select BR titles.

I traded in a Harry Potter HDDVD and got Heat on BR for $4.99. Not a bad swap.

Is it possible that this is just in Canada? Nothing I've seen in a Best Buy store or online has mentioned this.

It may just be in Canada but I imagine they'll have a similar offer in the US. Maybe they're just testing the idea in Canada.

The deal is you bring in any legitimate Hollywood film title on DVD (or HDDVD) and exchange it for a $5 discount on any of the 150 titles they have selected. Prices range from $9.95-$19.95 ($4.95-$14.95 with the discount).

The $4.95 titles are Training Day, Heat, Superman, Troy, Speed, Big, True Romance etc.
