I know that Tesco were stocking these a couple of months ago and they were easily made region free by a series of button presses on the remote. But, are the latest stock able to made region free using the same remote hack? Or, is there an alternate hack available?

Any info is appreciated.

This is untrue and I'm not quite sure where this rumour originated. Wharfedale themselves have confirmed that no such firmware changes have taken place and that none are planned. If you've held of buying one of these players due to these rumours then you can rest assured that the hack is still present.
