The only thing that sounds iffy is the videos 'created and submitted by actual "Smallville" fans' bit. But more Lionel is a good thing so I'm cool with that. If the rumour in the casting thread is true, perhaps Lionel is Clark's/Superman's arch nemesis in this continuity.

Excellent episode. Great to see Martha again, and Lionel was excellent, as well. Glad the VRA stuff is.finally behind us...

The Beacon of Hope Youtube videos were awful and I couldn't believe they played so many of them.
But, other than that, it was a great episode. It was good to see Martha again. Plus, thank God this VRA arc appears to be over with.
John Glover was awesome in this episode. It was really good to see Evil Lionel back in business. at Clark throwing him to the ground after rescuing him from the fire. Goodbye Luthor mansion!!

Great. Screwed again. I'm not sure if the idiots a the local affiliate fucked up AGAIN or zap2it stepped in it... but one or both of them did, and the show didn't record.

Crazy awesome episode. While evil Lex and evil Lionel grew tiresome years ago, super evil Lex and super evil Lionel are firing on all cylinders.
I was a bit miffed early when they copped out on the "Truth, justice and the American way" just like Superman Returns but they sorta made up for it in the end with Lois calling him an American Hero.
Not sure why there is so much hate for the YouTube vids. It was supposed to be regular folks supporting the Blur and that's what they got. It worked for me.

This series, for me anyway, has never been spectacular, but there are moments that are great, and that is why I continue to watch.
Overall, I didn’t think this episode was great, but something happened in this episode that I absolutely loved. When Clark talked with his mom about how it felt weird to hide Clark behind a bad haircut and glasses, because she had raised him to be proud of who he was…I don’t remember the actual words, but I was something that I had never thought about with superman before. I mean, I have heard the critique that the bumbling reporter was Kal-el’s assessment of humans, but really, this take on that dynamic stuck a chord with me for some reason.
I don’t know, no one else probably cared, but that was a bright spot in a dim episode for me.

If Alexander was fused with Kryptonian DNA, how is he not susceptible to Kryptonite?
This episode was kind of a mixed bag for me. Lionel and Martha were great, but Clark and Martha talking about he and other vigilantes being in hiding in front of an open door in a hospital seemed awfully lame.
With so few episodes left, they better start getting back to Darkseid. I'd hate it if they rush it out in 1 or 2 episodes.

Here's the quote you guys were looking for:
Well, when I saw those people willing to defend me, it was inspiring. It got me to thinking that, in order for The Blur to be a true beacon of hope, maybe people need to see my face, too. I've been to the future, and I saw the hero that I will become to save the city. But I also saw me - I mean...Clark Kent - disguised behind glasses and a bad haircut.
