Bruce Lee, My Brother
This looks interesting but I'm sort of on the fence about it after seeing the shitty TV series....

so...visually it's interesting...but..how much of it is fabricated bullshit cuz Dragon killed me on all levels on expecting a quality film on Lee.

Re: Bruce Lee, My Brother
If you watch the trailer again it does have some BS in it. Lee's mother says something about the studio giving him the name Bruce Lee. In many books I've read including the one written by Linda Lee it states that a nurse in the San Francisco hospital where he was born gave him that name. So, that's the first BS I caught. Also, the high kicks and cat cries. Why can't they just stick with basic wing chun and western boxing. Two things that the young Bruce Lee knows. I'm sure there's more. Now I'm really having second thoughts about this movie. As for the Dragon; yeah, that was all BS. Everything in that movie did not happen. I was so disappointed when that was first released.

and you're right...that nurse did give him his name. For some reason that really sticks out to me in my knowledge of his history...maybe cuz a nurse gave it to him.

....no...he did a COMPETENT job as Lee w/ what materials he had..of which weren't the best to make out of this character aka Bruce Lee. He didn't really look like the guy either...I think he was a good amount taller as well...Lee was 5 ft. 4in. Wikipedia says JSL was 5ft. 10in.

I got the BD yesterday and just finished watching it. I was wrong about what the trailer suggests. It was pretty close to what I've read over the years with only a few scenes that obviously took creative license to move the story along. To those looking for an action flick this is NOT it; you will be disappointed if that is what your expecting. It is a drama revolving around his family life before he left for the states. If your looking for something more true to life as opposed to Dragon; I believe this is the closest you will get to see what Bruce Lee's life was really like.

Wow, this looks very interesting. I've always been interested in how Bruce Lee grew up. I saw Dragon when I was little and still think of it as a very good movie, but as biographical movie it's almost laughable.
This film looks more detailed and this guy seems to resemble Bruce much more.
