Supermallet

Years ago on TV I saw some movie which began with some magical alien thing (looking vaguely like ET or Mac from Mac And Me) making money rain down on a house while a few kids and a mom looked on shocked. The only other thing I remember is that later the Secret Service came and questioned the mother because the bills had serial numbers that haven't been printed yet. Does anyone have an inkling of the movie? I only saw it the once and never again.
