Anyone still have any early released DVD's in CD Jewel Cases?
Back in 1997 when this whole show got started some DVD's were released in CD Jewel Cases. I still have the films 'Backdraft' and 'A Boy and His Dog' in those cases. Just wondering what other DVD's were released that way and if any of y'all still had them-

I've seen The Cable Guy and Reality Bites both in jewel cases at used stores. Kind of funny, since they are both directed by Ben Stiller.

I actually just saw a copy of Armitage III in the jewel case, with the cardboard cover at the used DVD store the other day. I briefly considered picking it up as a curiosity, but didn't bother in the end.

I think I still have Jumanji kicking around in a box somewhere. Got it free with my first DVD player (along with 4 other movies).

I have a crappy Hulk Hogan movie in one of those super jewel cases. I bought it for a dollar at a pawn shop.

I have "The Craft" from Sony in a jewel case, it was one of the first DVD releases. I also have "The Fan" in a jewel case, but that came a bit later. Never got any of Universal's jewel cases, but I have all their HD-DVDs so guess that makes up for it
Also got a number of Polygram titles in those weird slide-out cases that nobody liked: Fargo, Dead Man Walking, Lord of the Dance, Four Weddings & A Funeral, Kalifornia, and Gridlock'd.
Intro from the first Sony DVDs:

Re: Anyone still have any early released DVD's in CD Jewel Cases?
I always meant to pick up a title in a super or regular jewel case but never found one I needed. I have a weird fascination with different cases, like the many varients of multi-disc CD cases. And remember when you could buy singles, some of those cases were odd.
I do have several of the old Anchor Bay tin releases (The Beyond, Evil Dead 2, Halloween 4 & 5), inside of which the disc is held in a standard sized jewel case, but which has an awesome DVD logo on the hub piece.

Ooh, that's right, I also have the Anchor Bay special boxes of Evil Dead 2 and The Wicker Man which have a metal and wood oversized case respectively, but the discs inside are in jewel cases.

Forgot I also have "Shock: The Sequel To Latex" (yes, it's a porno, very well-made one too) in a jewel case- tray is light grey. Also have a bunch of Simitar titles that are in jewel cases with a longer cardboard box on the outside, which I've kept all of mine in (they were the first 'budget' label to put out DVDs- I went a little nuts when a bunch of their titles dropped to $4.99 each, since I never thought DVDs would sell for that little!) These also have the "DVD" logo where the "Compact Disc Digital Audio" logo usually is. (Sony and Universal used clear trays on theirs.)

I have some universal ones, still with the slipcover. The Paper and The shadow are ones off the top of my head. Both fullscreen.

I recall seeing Backdraft and another title (may have been Rock 'n' Roll High school) in jewel cases at this year's Pittsburgh Comicon. I thought about picking them up since I like collecting odditties like this, but they were $5 a piece and I thought that $10 would be better used towards comics I wanted.
